Damn, I will be in Sonoma Sunday night Monday and Tuesday. Have tastings scheduled at Ramey and Rafenelli so far. Gary, have you tried Willi’s wine bar in Santa Rosa? There is a seafood version in Healdsburg as well. They do tapas and wine flights with the Santa Rosa one having all different types of tapas and the Healdsburg one obviously seafood tapas. Will be staying at the Applewood Inn in Guerneville.Prefer Sonoma tasting rooms because the charge less and pour more.
Thanks for the Super Tuscan tastings. So far I haven’t seen the value lately as the prices tend to be so high for good quality.

Gary Good show and good timing as my wife and I are going to Tuscany later this year. I also find that Italian wines alway are better with food.

QOTD – not sure, can’t think of suggesting anything I’d have a chance of winning! The idea of a recurring intro for the show sounds interesting though.

Tuscany is probably one of the areas of wine that I have explored the least, beyond that of Chianti and Chianti Classico. I definitely want to give that Altesino a try.

QOTD: I do like the idea of creating an intro for the show, that sounds cool and I am already stewing up some ideas. I will try and come up with an original contest idea.

I was able to find and taste the Altesino Rosso Di Altesino 2004 today. It is very go. Super easy to drink but not strong on the flavor but I could smell the “dirt clod” on the nose. Very cool! Only the 2nd wine I was able to find here at home from Gary’s show.

QOTD: Create a WLTV wine label contest – in other words design a label that would grace the bottle of a custom Wine Library TV wine, should such a wine (ever) exist.

QOTD: I think the new intro could be a good idea, but be careful that you don’t make every contest only for cinematographers or graphic artists. How about whoever gets more of their friends to sign up on your website gets a trip to Italy to taste wine with you.

QOTD: I’m disapointed you’re canceling the wine making contest since I already sent my entry in! I would certainly vote for that, but the theme song contest seems to have the day (and it would be entertaining to everyone).
