Super Tuscans are my favorite. I just had a Frescobaldi Pomino Rosso at a restaurant which was listed for $75.00, but it was half price day, so we got it for $37.00, and when I checked out the on-line price, it was $25.00. The wine was fine, but I am totally obsessed with the mark-ups that restaurants impose upon their wines. This was really pushing it I think. They don't have their wines listed on-line so that they can be looked up ahead of time.

Never had a Super Tuscan before. I feel like Ive missed out on a lot and need to really get into the game. I know, I know.... no rules. QOTD: I think a WLTV movie based on anything wine related would be cool, something that followed a storyline of some kind and was say no more than 10 minutes.

YO GV i know this is late--but i just drank the altesino and the perlato del bosco. My altesino didn't do it for me--I found it a little flat not as exciting as you made it out to be. Perlato del bosco was spot on--great wine. I would drink that all day.

What would you drink Perlato Del Bosco with? Would it go well with a broccoli rabe or mushroom dish? You mentioned both in the tasting.

Hi Gary,

this is the first time I am watching your show and I have to say I like the way you speak about wine. I am on the wine buisness too and I think it's too boring to only be technical and don't speak on a simple way about wine. I always say we have different palate so the wine you love will may not be the wine I love but this is whay Wine is so marvellous.

I am french but I am a big fan of American wine (I know this is unusual) did you do a show about american wine? I have recently taste the Pomelo by Randy Mason, this is juts an outstanding "casual" wine. Casual because this is not a wine for a fine dining experience, but more for a lunch on the beach or a cocktail with friends, very refreshing. let me know what you think about.

regards

Gary:

I think you should do the show with a live audience once a month or so, it could blossom to maybe a food network show.

Love the show
Thanks

The Altesino recommendation was spot on. Best wine I have had in that price band in awhile. I purchased two bottles. I tried on myself on Friday night when I got back from a business trip. I was thrilled it lived up to your review. The following night I opened two bottles. One $60 Napa well know Cab and the $13 Altesino. We had dinner with some folks that know wine. They preferred and actually requested more of the Altesino. Great stuff. Thanks for a nice value play.

I like that e-mail you read. I'm also from Tucson and I have a feeling I know the exact store that Shad is referring to. I went there once for a wine and food tasting and was treated like a child by the employees. What a turnoff! Why do stores hire employees who do that? Do they really want to deter the "lower class" from shopping at their store? It really upset me. Anyways, just wanted to get that off my chest. Great show as usual, if a little bit long.
