I cooked 6 bottles of ‘79 Longueville when the wine cooler went out. Ruined them completely and they had been stored perfectly after that but they got to 90º for 5 days and the corks fell apart when opened so I know you can cook wines.

Love da schwag will get the T-shirts and bottle holders for friends.

    Gary!

I have to hand it to you and your other wine buyers at the Wine Library. Your inventory always seems to be very unique. The best WLTV wines of yesterday and monday are not even available for sale in California, according to Wine Searcher, and yesterdays wine was only for sale in two stores accross the country.

excellent episode. the math nerd in myself temporarily took over, i was keeping tally on everyone’s answers for their ASS to see the general spread of the Vayniac’s…but I got a headache and gave up halfway through. needless to say…the diversity is impressive. My own personal ass looks like : 24/male/IN

great episode & idea, as always…note sure about the new intro (”…thunder show…”), but who cares. just got home from the hospital – shoulder surgery – and one of the first things i did was watch the episodes i missed. this took a while to type one-handed.

not that you’re likely to care, but you made the blog.

Okay, William thanks for the encouragement, I’m 55. I think Gary is going to be surprised when he calculates the average age or median of his audience. It might be close to 40 something. Who’d have guessed.

We may not participate all that much in the web world such as myspace, but we can still bring the thunder and we aren’t afraid to purchase lots of wine!

I liked the Macchiole at the nyc off-line dinner. It didn’t blow me away, but at 25 bucks it is a great QPR. I am geting two bottles of the Moccagatta Barbaresco by the way with my raffle prize. While it was really dry by itself I kept coming back to it during the meal. It was so interesting, compelling, yummy, delicious, elegant, food-friendly, and basically everything I like about red wine. What a generous man you are for bringing that.

    Hope all is well.

Great epidode! Always wondered if it really made a difference. Personally don’t like red wines that are chilled…seems to mask the nose and the flavor like you said!!

ASS: 57 M NY… great show, Q: what if you allowed the “hot” corked bottle to cool down, when you open it later will the cork still swell? and would the nose & flavors default back to a room temp profile?
