Is it wrong that I want to buy a bottle of Le Macchiole now and cook it?

Great show, Gary. I was surprised at your reaction to the “cooked” wine. I have always had a dislike for wine that was above room temperature, no matter how good the wine.

    You are crazy, Gary!

All this production to convince us that shipping wines during the extreme heat of the summer is actually good for it and rapid aging will occur…

Fun show. But I’m not so shure on the validity of the results. Apparently a big and bold wine can stand the punisment. But what happens with a frail(er) wine. What about a old Pinot or a Gammay for instance? What about one of your favorites, a pouilly fume? I bet the results would be much different.
40 something fahrenheit? Come on… freeze it!

Great Episode….interesting findings on the heat episode.

Had a Castello di Querceto 2000 chianti…I am not claiming to have had many, but this one was out of this world good, for a Chianti (which is normally not the wine of choice) Had it with an Opus X cigar….what an evening!

The cooked wine’s not bad? As someone who has received and tasted cooked wines, any respect I had for your palate is lost. Try that wine after 6 months and see if you feel the same way… regardless, for you to think it’s not bad, I’m out.

Totally agree with you about the ice cold beer. I am not surprised you liked the wine hot– seems like it would have the reverse effect of refrigeration, amplifying the flavor instead of deadening it. I thought the salad dressing in the beer cooler, and your reaction, was pretty funny too. 37-M-NJ
