Hi Gary, love Amorone! Wish you had a strong “must seek otu” in the bunch.

QOTD: I want to find out if the hype for 2005 burgundy is ‘for real”. How about tasting, for the first time, a 2005 burgundy of some pedigree: Lignier Michelot Vv Chambolle Musigny 2005

Enjoyed the Monday show if not the Friday one. We have 1.5 L of Bertani Amarone 1990 that we’re saving for a special occasion – specifically one of our friends is promising to have an Italian wine party. I e-mailed the winery to find out more about the Amarone and Cavaliere Bertani himself (I think) responded – of course he feels that it is fabulous, though young, so I hope it is.

I’d love to you do up a Banyuls and a Coume Del Mas. Haven’t seen any in the archives. Here are a couple from WL:

    Helyos Banyuls 2002

    Coume Del Mas Quintessence 2003

Throw in some other sticky stuff and you’ve got a show. I’ll grant that summer weather doesn’t scream dessert wine, but anybody drinking these wines is probably springing for air conditioning, right?
