QOTD: 100% red (If you include Sauternes among the whites it would be 99% red: 1% Sauternes.)

    Great show.
QOTD: 80% red to 20% white.

QOTD: Yearlong, about a 50/50 mix. During the summer, it skews towards white with a 75/25 white bias. During the winter, there’s nothing better than getting cozy with a nice red, so its probably 75/25 red. All this is not considering Rose, which is probably about a 10-20% addition during summertime.

Sir Gary cracks me up, especially since you can see the real Gary coming through. Any other great characters in the plans?

Sir Gary, though I love your wealth of knowledge and accomplished palate, I hate your pompous attitude. Our Gary would never lord his knowlege over us and speak down to us. So what if you have so much money and can afford to buy $100 wines without blinking!? Like Gary says, wine is for celebrating relationships, not separating us! ;)

QOTD: Probably 70% red to 30% white, though it would be cool to be able to drink a white and a red every day (730 different wines a year!)

Great job Sir Gary. 80% red for me

dude – great lighting for this episode! can’t you get one of those hoity-toidy cigarette holder thingys for when you turn the elegance show over to “Sir”?

doesn’t VinnyG makes some yummy vino?

About 95% Red and 5% White.

    I love sir Gary.

40% White/Rose consumption. I live in LA – where it is sunny and warm all year around and we eat Ca Salads and Sushi outdoors – whites and roses are best matches!

YES! Hot Diggidy sir vaynerhcuk is back! It was great seeing you try and integrate your normal vocab into sir vaynerchuk vocab..not easy to do…with time! By the end I felt i was listening to a total different guy. great work. QOTD- 70-30 winter, 65-35 summer.

QOTD: 50/50, especially white burgundies and bordeaux on the white spectrum.

TFF! Great episode pulled off after a full day of shows. You are da man.

    QOTD: 90/10 red

QOTD: Probably about 70-80% red and 20-30% white.

Sir Gary is a very interesting character, but I’m not sure he quite captures my image of British-accented upper-class snobbery. He seems too overtly hostile for that, as opposed to merely being shocked and repelled by the unrefined tastes and manners of us lesser mortals, if he acknowledges our existence at all. I also picture somebody who insists on maintaining silly niceties. Insisting on a “proper rinse” had the right tone for me, except that this isn’t just a silly nicety. Maybe Sir Gary could hold out his pinky when he raises the glass to his lips, or wear a tastevin around his neck, or stuff like that.

    Outrageous!Fantastic!

GREAT idea. Hard to believe you do this without rehersals. I like the Character idea! I made my staff watch with me today and we’re all laughing. GV looking through the spectacles and through the bottom of the glass at the camera was hilarious!

Corton’s….I haven’t had many. DO they sound like something to seek out for that price point?

    QOTD : 97% Red

    Sir Very Gaynerchuck

Quite elistic show, which is the natural and lifeblood component of the wine culture.

I hope we see you more often!

Ps. I would say 20-80 only because there is not the red champagne.

I can’t believe people still throw an extra “c” in your name, despite your best efforts against it. I share your pain…

    QOTD: 91/9 red

    AppellationMan

I couldn’t even make it to the QOTD, I couldn’t stop laughing and nearly got busted by my boss. I will watch the rest of the EP at home. Marvelous.

    Sir Gary,

I appreciated how elegantly polished and refined your style and delivery was today on the show. It could not be appropriatley deemed anything else but “The Elegance Hour,” because wine should be refined and proper.

And because I am someone who is unfortunatley of piss on status, I could only ever dream of being as elegant as you are, because after all, isn’t masculinity and being a man all about elegance? But of course!

And what about this nonsense of drinking wine with hamburgers or while watching American football matches. Wine should be consumed with a pipe, perhaps a shotgun while in the woods, or with the womenfolk.

It’s quite sad to see those pathetic people drinking yellowtail shiraz, and thinking they know what’s best for their own palate. Bullroar as I say! Wine should be taken very seriously, and it is dangerous for most people who are not as educated or as elegant as us to make their own decisions about what wines they like to drink, because their palates are not as sophisticated as ours are.

I hope you can continue trying to change the wine world and bring it back to its grandiose status, because people need to trust our palates, not their own. And what about this cat pee nonsense!

Perhaps the piss ons should continue drinking this wine instead of saving their money for white burgundy, or perhaps continue foolishly drinking these rediculous New World fruit “bombs.”

Anyone with any wine wisdom and elegance knows that the only good and propper wines to drink come from the Old World, and should not be consumed without food.

Keep the torch burning my brother, and perhaps you could join my pipe and wine based secret society someday – similar to the Skull and Bones or the Knight’s Templar, or the Illuminati for that matter, but rather than have purely political adgendas, we focus our underground networking and secret objectives on controling anything elegent.

    Respectfully yours,

Duke Garret W. Nagel III of Holland

    QOTD: 70/30.

    Randy

Fabulous, I’m so glad Sir Gary is going to be filling in for you occasionally! Everyone needs an alter-ego to come take over the business now and again.

QOD: I used to be 99/1 Red/White, but these days I’m more like 50/40/10 Red/White/Pink

  21. July 27, 2007

Along with that superfluous jerk-off Gary, Louis Jadot is one of the most over-rated brands ever. I’ve never had a Jadot that I thought was worth the price. Although the real red Corton is far superior :-) , I would like to try a corton charlemagne at some point.

    QOTD: 75% red 25% white

Gary, could you be a little more bourgeois. Please a few more contractions would be nice.
    CKC in the house!

Its good to know that Sir Gary is a sporting fellow and likes to shoot crows. I could only wonder if he would state that at wine could smell like “A shot crow.” :)

    QOTD: 90% RED, 9% White, 1% Rose

    msb2ncsu

Haha, I love the way Gary ever so slightly raised an eyebrow and fought off a smile after saying he was going to smoke a very excellent pipe.

QOTD: Probably 60% reds to 40% whites. We drink a lot more white in the summer because of the types of food we cook. Friday and Saturday is almost always red because tend to cook big ol’ steaks or hefty pastas.

  25. July 27, 2007

    His Royal Highness

Muffy and I partake of reds over whites, 75% of the time. It’s primarily because we’re quite enthralled with the 100 cases of the 2000 Chateau Le Pin that our friends gave us as castle warming gifts during one of our recent wild boar dinners. Quite an intoxicating wine and food pairing, I must say!
