I like when he hits his glasses with the wine glass while smelling the wine! LOL

Bring on the alter-ego! Can anyone say Black Spiderman? Great episode, although I will have to wait for my wife to publish her research before we can afford them.
    QOTD: 20% white, 75% Red, 5% heffevizen.

    BobMac

QOTD: I’d say 75-25 red-white. I’d drink more whites, but most of the family likes the reds. And I really like the pretentious Gary.

    Brendan McGuigan

QOTD: Right now I’d say I’m pretty close to 50-50, mostly because I’m going through a pretty strong Viognier phase right now, and also rediscovering Petite Arvine. Usually it’s probably closer to 70% red 30% white, or 80% red 20% white during the winter.

point taken. Nice to see you mix it up.
QOTD – 93.76% red and 6.24% white. do the math, it works out.

    Jay!

Hilarious! Really makes you appreciate the “regular” Gary.

QOTD: Probably about 99% red and 1% white (I haven’t bought it, just tasted it)

Thanks for doing the Corton tasting that I have been waiting for since Wine Library TV started. I’m still looking for one that has a viscous mouth feel. Please let me know if you run across one. QOTD: At home its 50-50. My wife puts out a glass for me when I arrive home. She alternates the reds and the whites. It takes me 3 days to knock off a bottle. She only drinks a little because she knows her place. When we go to a restaurant that allows me to bring my own wine its almost only red; better chance for a match up. When we go with others I bring both. I usually bring wine for the owner of the restaurant. Its usually at least 10 years old but not my A list stuff. Jerry the 2THDR. I was away Friday so didnot see this until late Sunday.

ROTFLOL this is the best episode yet!

“Me, with a whole lot of ME, IM changing the wine world… AREN’T I!”

Oh and I’m about 2/3 red to 1/3 white.

    Kirk

QOTD: I’d have to say about 55% red, 5% rose and 40% white….all in all it depends on my mood…as for the show…a fun watch…

75/25 looking at the whole year.
would love to see sir gary and “jerk-off” gary square off in a french vs rest of the world varietal tasting.
given that this might cause some severe psychological damage, i’ll settle for seeing how sir gary ranks the rhone, loire, bordeaux and burgundy wines against each other. could imagine him reveling in the pinot and the bordeaux, while he pumps the loire whites through his bidet.

    Toke-Dawg

    QOTD:
    65/35 reds in the summer;
    80/20 reds in the summer.

Enjoy the very excellent pipe. Nice touch.

  12. July 29, 2007

    Andy

I’m probably 75/25 in favor of reds. At home I’m about 50/50 since I eat more white wine friendly food. When I go out and order wine, I’ve gotta be at least 90/10 reds.

  13. July 29, 2007

    Montrose

I tend to drink about 85% dry red, 10% dry white and about 5% mixed desert wines (mainly sauternes, auslese and port).

  14. July 29, 2007

    john ripperger

    99.5% red slick

    wannaBconnoisseur

Great week of shows, just got caught up!!

QOTD: Used to be 99.9% red, these days it’s more like 70-red, 30-white, largely due to WLTV helping me expand my horizons. Thanks GV!!

  16. July 29, 2007

    Scottymatt

QOTD: 60% to 40% red to white in the spring/summer months (seasons), 90% to 10% red to white in the fall/winter months (seasons).
Great show Sir Gary-fantastic insight in a wonderous region!!!

  17. July 29, 2007

    Matt N.

QOTD: I am at 95 to 5 red to white at the moment, but trying to become more balanced…

    Karl Laczko

    Sir Gary,

An outstanding episode of Viniferous delights. I will endeavour to save my pounds and pennies to be able to afford some of these one day. Remember it’s easy to get pounds… you just have to divide that lowly dollar value by 2 :)

Releasing hounds?, boating in the Himalayas?? OK, rolling with you so far….Yowzers?, nah, don’t think so.

    QOTD – Probably on about 60% R & 40% W for drinking (70% 30% in the cellar).

  19. July 29, 2007

    PaulT

QOTD: probably 30/50/20 red/white/rosé on average for the whole year, white and rosé mostly in summer, red mostly in winter.

  20. July 29, 2007

    Fingerlaker

QOTD: 97/3 reds to whites(mostly fingerlakes whites).

i apologize in advance for drinking wine from such horrid an area as central ny.

    yoshie

    I forgot to tell you!
    I’m a fan of “Sir Gary”. :)

  22. July 29, 2007

    MrTC

    QOTD: 65% red & 35% white

There’s no theme to the reds, but in the white there’s a tendency towards sauvignon blanc and champagne (I live within 1-day round-trip distance from Reims).

  23. July 29, 2007

    1855class

i love pretense! nice tie-ascot. the guy who owns a boutique wine shop in my hood wears an ascot sometimes.
qotd: 75% red, 20% white, 5% bubbles. i find lately when i cook dinner i pair whites with it.

  24. July 29, 2007

    wlburk

honestly gary, you are truly inspiring…I laughed myself to death…i liked the comment about burning the guy…classic!

QOTD: since I’m still newbie 98% sweet white dessert wines 2% red fruit bombs

  25. July 29, 2007

    Todd S

That persona/character fits like a discount rental tux.

    QOTD:
    Winter 86% red – 1% white – 13% stouts and porters
    Summer 70% red – 10% white – 20% IPA’s and other hoppie beer.
