Hello everyone, I’ve been a die hard vayniac since the early episodes dodging the radars. Are there any young vayniacs out there? I’m in my 20’s, but lived in a Italian household that shared wine, bread, and cheese. I suppose they are my inspiration. I had the Hecula about three or four months ago, and it is certainly as Gary described.

I want to see Gary taste some Gaja (I just received a nice bottle of Sperss for my 23rd — thanks to my stepdad) — anyway, Gary if you’re out there, how about giving your golden words about some Cotes du Rhone (Vacqueyras preferable), Sangiovese, or my personal favorite Chateauneuf du Pape… Hell with it, I got a cheap Spanish red called Tres Ojos that will knock your dirty socks off — go buy it for six to seven quid.

wine library sales just went through the roof. if you really don’t want to jump the shark, you may not want to drop the ol’ “leave me the wine library item # link”. I know you want to help out the family biz, but be sure to keep it real. I assure you it will pay off in the long run if you do!

Big G, Big G, Big G, Loved you on Conan, you killed it. Now for my comment on today’s show. The 2005 Concha Y Toro Chardonnay Marques De Concha. I picked this bottle up at Costco a couple of weeks ago and I feel you missed it on this one. Yes, I know my pallet your pallet, but I just had to tell ya, It tasted to me like I bit into a “old school” trash can lid. As far as the fruit goes apple and pear SKIN only. Even at this price point, I feel it was an 85 pt wine at best.
Hey, it’s fun hitting you up with an ” I think you’re off the mark” comment.

QOTD. Give us a Classic Vintage of anything please!

A 92 rating from Parker for $12.00? I’ve had this once before and really enjoyed it. Perhaps the other Vayniacs will as well:

Get rid of the scores! They are holding up the revolution! If you want to really change the wine world, get rid of Vanyiacs and scores. You are NOT Robert Parker! Power to the people! Let the revolution begin!!!!!

Gary, loved the Conan show. Why not kick back on a Fri after a hard week’s work and drink some well earned port or sherry. You sherry selection is a little sparse so let’s go with a nice Fonseca 40 Year Tawny Port. C’mon Gary, you know you deserve it! http://winelibrary.com/reviewwine.asp?item=26067

Tremendous show on Conan last night. I laughed my ass off! I do have to disagree with you about peas though. Peas were one of those foods that I would try to hide in my napkin as a kid so my mom would let me get up from the dinner table.

QOTD: I just got back from VEGAS BABY! I’m in the mood for something a little less serious. I’ve always found this to be a fun crowd pleaser:
