Of all the wine critics you mention, Steven Tanzer, Josh Raynolds etc. RP seems to be the one you agree the least with. Is this something you feel to ?

Why this wine? We are having a blast of a blind tasting tonight – I bring this one and of course a little bubbly bub. So let´s have it – to compare our taste buts :)

    Have a nice one!

Again, kudos on making a Conan appearance, and I’m so excited to see where this little thing (that I love so much an have been a part of since way back) will go in the coming weeks and months.

QOTD: I’ll leave it up to the other Vayniacs because I never can seem to find a decent wine at a good price that I’ll actually be able to buy to suggest to you to taste on the Friday request shows. Today was filled with value, so I’ll be happy with that and enjoy tomorrow’s show with the great Vayniac requests.

This is the first Cotes Du Rhone I’ve tried and it’s completely different than anything else I’ve had yet(I’ve tried very little). I seem to think this is lacking something, but I dig where it’s trying to go. I’d like to know how this Cotes Du Rhone would compared with an exceptional one, one that really defines a Cotes Du Rhone.

Congrats on the Conan gig. I recorded it and watched it today, and you did a great job! I hate it that you had to go past the Petrol that was on the table, but hey, maybe next time!

QOTD: Here you are, Gary… you should celebrate…

and it would make a good show since they just sold for a kajillion dollars.

congrats on the conan show, you did great!

Picking up a couple of bottles of Chateau Ferriere 2000 on Saturday courtesy your customer appreciation sale, thank you very much. Although, it is still $20+ the release price. I guess I can’t complain. It is from a heralded vintage. Anyway, I want to know if you think the WS 93 pt. score is merited. Are you usually in the store on Saturday’s? Probably not. But it would be nice to see meet the man, the myth, the legend. I’m on a road trip to Jersey this weekend from DC. Couldn’t pass up a visit to WL.

P.S. Killer appearance on Conan. You guys had me rollin’.

First Conan was a great sport to go with you all the way down the road. Next, thanks for the Slate article…it was a good read all the way to the end….some hard points, but generally I think the writer did “get it”.

QOTD: I am interested in your view of the Rombauer Merlot — http://winelibrary.com/reviewwine.asp?item=30105

I stumbled on another people-socially-micro-bloggy site for you: http://www.tumblr.com (I’m not affiliated, a friend showed it to me, my profile is nasv.tumblr.com – interesting concept).

Gary, you really should have brought the 03′ hecula. I’ve probably had two cases of it and absolutely loved it, and I thought the 04′ was disappointing. Though you probably should decant both of them for a few hours, it makes a huge huge huge difference. I really want to recommend you taste the 03′ domaine de cristia chateauneuf du pape renaissance. It’s 94 or 95 parker for 45 bucks, I tried it last night and it was stellar! But since you don’t have it I guess the onix 2005 from priorat would be great. Or even better yet http://winelibrary.com/reviewwine.asp?item=27923. Great job on Conan, I was almost crying watching him eat asparagus and a sock!
