Gary – try grilled cheese like Asiago with wine.
Cut into one inch squares – 1/2 inch thick. Crust the top and bottom and leave the inside soft. Then drink a nice red or a heavier white with it – You will be amazed at how good the wine will taste. The salt and fat from the cheese blends well and softens the tannins and acidity while briging out the flavors of the wine.

QOTD: 24 or 32 oz Angus Porterhouse with fettucine alfredo (with only the best parmesan), roasted asparagus and red peppers. With a full bodied red – Cabernet or Bordeaux blend / Or Alternatively Broiled 2 1/2 lb Maine Lobster with a parmesan / mushroom risotto, squash souffle. With a rich Chardonnay or Puilly Fuisse.

    Getting hungry?

New to wine library TV, enjoy your energy and approach to wine. You have been all over the map talking about wines from different areas. Would like to hear you views about the 5th USA wine producing state of Virginia.

Thanks as always for a great show! You and Natalie MacLean are my visions of what I want to be in the future :)

Here is my question for you all.
    What cheeses go with Sherry?

(In the summer I switch to sherries for my night cap, in the winter I do Ports.)

Gary – Don’t worry about the critics (they have tiny little “minds” and other body parts. Anyone who doesn’t like the show can just tune into http://www.winesnob.com. Cheers!

Gary – You haven’t turned me off yet. But I must say that I enjoyed your earlier episodes a lot more. They were more about the vino.

Take a self-critical look at the Slate article too. Still love you though.

Thanks for all the great wine tips, the education and for cleaning out my wallet.

Couldn’t agree with you more about your bouquet comment – the nose knows, fruit is waay overrated. Wish more wine today was like the type of wine made in the 60’s in Bordeaux and Burgundy!

Hope you and my son have a great trip to wine country this weekend – he can be an actor, too, as you know.

You tell em! People can get snotty and snobbish about wine, and all of a sudden they start to talk proper and get boring. Lets make it fun. QOTD= A filet mignon topped with foie gras and believe it or not, the erath pinot noir was a great match. My wife appreciated it also.

Wine & cheese, one of my favourite combinations!

What sort of closure/top was that on the German pinot blanc? It looked cool!

Good going, Gary. You know, so many people have forgotten that drinking wine is fun! Oh well, I guess we should feel sorry for these wine snobs that think that all us Vayniacs are idiots. They’re really missing out…too bad, so sad…

    Loved this episode!
    Sic em Gary!
The main irritating thing with all the haters and poncey exclusive members-only wine nerds is….
How is it ever a bad thing that more people are becoming interested in wine and trying new things?
Does it really matter HOW they are becoming more interested?

I’m sure the wine makers don’t object to having more drinkers.
I’m sure the wine publications don’t object to having more subscribers.

    yadda yadda.

Love ya Gary, keep it comin!
