QOTD: The answer would be, a shrimp dish, with a riesling and my girlfriend.

Plus, Gary, thanks for sticking up for us. Despite what the nye sayers might say, your approch to wine HAS brought me closer to the wine world. The stuck up snobbiness of the elite, virtually drove me away from every beginning to get into wine. I’ve turned from worrying about selecting the right wine at the store, and being too afriad to ask the dumb questions, to unafriad and just trust my own pallet. As always, keep up the good work. I enjoy every aspect of your show.

Sorry, forgot the QOTD (DUH!)….Ultimate dinner? Slow cooked Lamb Shanks in a balsamic Vinegar & Rosemary sauce served with a young(ish) Ribera del Duero Roble or Crianza. No-one but Sarah on the guest list I’m afraid.

(Oak monster ripping of faces, that’s not good. Any reason why only the Quicktime worked today?)

Also, respect to Baron Elie de Rothschild, 1917-2007. R.I.P. (Thanks amgryger)

First, you do not have to defend yourself to anyone! You have always stayed true to who you are I am quite shocked to see my wise Master go off like that (even though it was hilarious!) You need to remember the teachings over our ancestors and live by this old chinese proverb………..F#@% em if they can’t take a joke! And if that does not work you can have them sniffy sniff my ass!…:)

Great episode and love the cheese pairing and think it is a great idea.

QOTD – just had that meal last fall. Paris with my sweetheart Mrs. Grasshopper at Le Bofinger, beautiful steak w/ bernaise sauce, with the most excellent frites and green beans and a bottle of 1994 Cos Estournel. Was an awesome meal with my awesome lady!

QOTD: An old Barolo, a rustic Italian stew, my wife, my brother and his wife – and if it happened in Italy, even better.

    Love the show!

Gary your the man! But, But, I will admit that I prefer the classic Gary. At about episode #50 you caught fire. I think it was after you decided that keeping WLTV on the net was the way to go, it was like you had finally figured it all out. I think the style from those episodes feels more sincere (I’m up to like #110). Sure it’s still wacky and little over the top, but it doesn’t feel over-produced. Don’t get me wrong the content is still the bomb, but the newer shows feel a little too Hollywood. I realize that it’s probably the direction you need to go to expand WLTV which is unfortunate. Maybe it’s just me. I’ve always preferred the independent films to the Hollywood blockbusters.

I hope I don’t come across as some sort of ass, but since it seems to be topical I thought I’d share my opinion.

    Great episode!

GV you are insane. Way to stick it to the snobs.

QOTD: Dinner with my wife would include oysters on the 1/2 shell, steak tartare to start. Then a salad of watercress, arugula, beets, stilton and hazelnuts followed by standing rib roast with horseradish crust and butter poached lobster. Finishing with shortbread cookies, bittersweet chocolate and some cheeses & fruits.
Wines would include Weil Rieslings, Brunier’s Vieux Telegraphe, Mayacamas Cabs, and Sauternes.

Hey Gary, you upset my Sarah, she needs to hear your animated and excited intro every episode, now she has a sad face after the low grade intro…. not good. :(

Yeah, we know us Vayniacs don’t know s**t about wine, I mean I’ve still not reached my 60th Variety on my Century club application, I still can’t recall all the Premier Cru Vineyards in Chablis and can only remember 7 of the 13 main varieties used in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, how thick am I?

Sarah’s happy now, you came back to normal. She says that anyone who doesn’t like you or your show should switch off and leave the good bits to us.

Nice VaynerQuotesâ„¢, decent defense, fairly good offense, nice to have you back….

Who cares what anyone else says. Vayniacs rule and so do you Gary. Where else would you read a review of a wine that says it tasted like Grand Marnier? Cheese seemed like a bust as a wine pairing though.
Never could get the site to come up today so I watched on Quicktime as well.

The wine experience is different every time. Sometimes it’s the wine, sometimes the food and the wine but always is the companions because that is what wine is for to me…the sharing part.

    Loved the rant!!!
    One of my favorite shows.
QOTD: Oysters on the half shell for app. — followed by fresh mozzarella and tomato salad w/basil. A nice medium rare Rib eye and a good bottle of shafer Hillside Select Cab. Follow that up with some tiramisu — Friends and Family all the way.

Owen Roe?? Nice. Always good to see those guys get some love. Wish WL would stock on them more, though.

This is your show not anyone else’s, so they can go take a wine bottle and stick it….well you fill in the blank. The reason that I started drinking wine is because someone is not stilling there nose in the air and has that wine bottle jammed in their….well again fill in the blank. I agree with you about a wine pallet trust your own pallet no one else can tell me what I like because who is Robert Parker anyways? Is he someone special? No just another wine snob that wants me to like everything he says is good. Well that my opinion and I am sticking to it.

    Hey Gary,
Just keep on doing what you’re doing man! We’re the ones having all the fun and we’ll keep on having a good time, with or without those folks! That said from one of your most loyal fans, devoted customer, and an original “old school” Vayniac (not to mention the one who coined the term VaynerNation;-) Maybe you should be more concerned about the guys from Napa after the Walla Walla comment!
QOD With my family and closest friends I would love to share a meal of juicy, medium rare prime rib eye grilled steaks, a dirty Jers grown tomato, vidalia onion and blue cheese dressing salad, and rosemary roasted potatoes with Barolo, Amerone, Bordeaux, or Washington State Cab! No room for desseert after all that, but if I did have room, I’d have some late harvest riesling or ice wine with a piece of warm apple strudel!!! I think I need a nap now!!!

Tell all those people to SCREW OFF, Gary!

Don’t criticize the man with his own vlog and thousands of fans! MUA HA HA HA! Beat that, SNOBS! YEAH GARY, you piss all over those morons comments!

I don’t care if he didn’t use my idea, that intro was worth it!

I’m not sure I was ever in my “grand-pappy’s grand-pappy’s grand-pappy’s thought processes”?

I love the caution you throw to the wind with your stetment about Walla Walla…watch your back in Napa, their might be some haters out there!

Beyond the tasting notes, I think the best descriptor for the wine are: PAZZZZ, Seek It Out, or Expense Account Time!

“Not the best dessert wine I’ve ever had, and definitley not the best…” CLASSIC GARY! Interesting way to pull out a steal angle for the CKC/Hard Alcohol Heads! YOU ARE RIDICULOUS!

QotD: Raw clams on the half shell to start, no sauce except for some lemon on about half of them. Homemade pierogies, about a third each of potato, cheese, and cabbage/mushroom sauteed in onions and butter. For wine… Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, doesn’t matter what kind. Dessert, apple pie with vanilla ice cream on the side and some d’yqeum. With my wife.
