I’m fascinated to see you introduce another word to your vocabulary. I hope we can expect a few more in the near future.

    Great show, as usual.

An interesting mix of wines today. It would be awesome to work at WL.

QOTD: How juice from a grape can generate SO much variety and interest.

    Thanks for coming in today!

QOTD: Petite sirah, wacky varietal-specific roses (e.g., petite sirah, alicante, mouvedre), and ISRAELI WINE. Thanks for the love to Castel, but that should just be the beginning! Many other AWESOME Israeli wineries are out there that BRING THE THUNDER, TANAKH-style!

Thanks for redeeming Kosher wine by whipping out the Castel. I’m afraid the damage was done two episodes ago, though.

Premium kosher wines can be found at less threatening price points. Keep your eyes peeled for the new single vineyard Yarden 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s flying off the shelves in Israel and would be very popular here in the US as well.

    GOod episode Gary.

I enjoyed the jab at LA! :)

I love that you put the phone on your table and it was just close enough for the camera to pick up the incoming signals(the little beeps before the ring). :)

    QOTD: Nature!

QOTD: The ability to create a great meal and to pair it with the perfect wine. I’m lacking on both fronts, but trying.

Gary … how about an animated episode where the Thundercats can come alive?

Holy hell, what was Liono doing to that other Thundercat on the spit bucket…looks like you are running a burlesque thundercat party, you know where they all get back together after a while and just go crazey….
QOTD – What fascinates me is how anyone cannot love the Toronto Raptors…Gary, there is a Raptors T-shirt coming for you to wear on the show. :)

I’m bummed that the aglianico sparkler didn’t step up. Could have been a great and interesting little wine.

I’ve had Woop Woop Chard before, but didn’t think it was that bad. Although, I’m sure I did not have the 07. Maybe it’s a bad year?

qotd: the weather in NYC right now. What gives?

  18. August 23, 2007

    Tom T.

Yo too bad the sparkler was not too good as I’m looking for another, but maybe I’ll give it a whirl anyways.
    QOTD…300 eps and going strong.

A good cottage industry would be to buy used oak barrels and make tooth picks to sell to those who love the oak monster allowing them a fresh source between their monster oak wines.

Very disappointing to hear about the Woop Woop. The 2005 was excellent; scored a 88 with Josh Reynolds (Tanzer). For a while it was an everyday mid-week drinker for us. I tried the 2006 which was very disappointing – sounds like 2007 is even worse – I almost feel like buying it – to see bad it is.

G,, I’m feeling the fascination .. Be safe in the City man.

    Nice show!!
QOTD: I am fascinated by the fact that you can’t stop making comments about the GMEN. Sounds like a little jealousy.

Rotten Lemon Explosions (in my mouth)= RLE = HILARIOUS!

QOTD: If the universe is expanding at an increasing rate, what exactly is it expanding into? Hmmmmm

Big-ups GV, lookin forward to #300.
