Watching this episode, I realized I didn’t have any Pauillac on my ‘05 Bordeaux futures order, so I just added 2.

QOTD: Well, 5 guys huddled around a computer, watching you over and over again compare a glasses of wine to throw-up or a shoe dipped in mud and poop was about where it started; now it’s devolved into each of us shouting “BARNYARD!” at the others whenever possible. But we’re all paying a hell of a lot more attention to wine now, trying new things, and learning from you every day. Thank you.

Chuckled at you comment on pencil shavings and ignoring the teacher as you have become one of the best “teachers” I have ever had. Looking forward to many more lessons from Professor Vaynerchuk.

    Hey GV,
I am one of the Vayniacs that have been that hasn’t been commenting as often as I should. It is NOT because I’m taking WLTV for granted, I’ve just been swamped (school, job hunt, sick dad blah blah blah) and I haven’t been getting to watch until the eps are a couple of days old and it seems pointless to comment about an ep days after the fact. However, I am caught up and will do my best to stay that way.
You are like a big old Cadillac, comments are your fuel and it takes a WHOLE lot of fuel to make that Caddy go.
    Thanks Gary.

Awesome show today. I would love to try those wines if I had the money. As for the contest idea, how about a video contest. Like who can put on the craziest wine tasting or something like that. And then they have to post it on youtube and see who gets the most hits or something like that.

    Hey Gary,

Give the iPhone to whoever can come up with the best idea for a new WLTV T-shirt.

It’s going to take exactly one dozy midnight stroll to the bathroom by Mrs. Vaynerchuk stepping on one of those pesky Thundercats left out after playtime to see the demise of the burgeoning collection. Put your toys away, Gary before you put somebody’s eye out. Don’t make me stop this car.
Love the show. Big order from WineLibrary just came in today and it feels like Christmas in August.

Apple iphone give a way. Get a way to rate comments by other viewers. Take the average of all rating for the comment and give that commenter a score. Collect the score for 30 days, take the top 25 add them up. That would be their overall score. Highest score after 30 get the iphone. I think commentors will get friend to visit to rate their comments.

    # 300 seemed like such an ending, a conclusion to all that had gone before.
But CONGRATS on # 301 — a new beginning, and a casebook study in episode greatness.
Gar’, you were as subdued today as you were on episode # 1 — but as authoritative and at ease as you were on # 300.
There was no gimmickry about it, no ranting, and nothing over-the-top — just you, enthusiastically imparting your knowledge — from “there’s a sincerity to this wine…it’s real” — to the peppered, bacon-wrapped exploding plum!

QOTD: Funny? Maybe not so funny, but there’s me – knowing nothing about wine, but really into WLTV, the Forums, and a big fan of GV; and there’s my wife, the wine expert, afficionado and connoisseur, who could care less about Forums, blogging or WLTV.
I can’t believe she’s not into all of this, and she can’t believe that I’m truly interested in any of it.
Together we make one fine Vayniac!

So you read all the comments yea?? Then where the hell is my 2000 Sansonnet order??!!! ;-)
Also, any chance you make an appearance at this years WS New York Wine Experience? or am I going to have to rent a car and drive my ass down to the Wine Library without a ghost of a chance that you will be there so I can say hi? I don’t get out East too often and by God I’ll do it….

QOTD:Met Grasshopper via WLTV,, now if I can get him to come and VISIT HIS FOLKS once in awhile, so I can have he and his wife over for a glass of wine sometime…….:-)

Love your comment yesterday (show #300) about the strawberries from Wegman’s. Not certain how far you are from Wegamns. My wife and I have three of them within five minutes from our house. You are doing the same thing for wine the Danny is doing for food. Making fun and enjoyable.

I have an email coming, but just a thought: why don’t you make a show with a vertical tasting showing the differences between a very young Bordeaux but (perhaps too )fruity (1-2 year old), one or two wine that are below the mark (3-7 years), a mature bordeaux (8-12 yrs) and a good but old one say 15-20 yrs old of a good castle. I just had a ‘57 Latour which was still as young as other wines would be proud of after 2-3 years.

Thanks for answering the other day – not sure that I expected that :-)

You can always just send me the iPhone. I have no idea why I should get it, but it sounds like a good lottery this way ;-) (drinking Austrian Lunzer Chardonnay 2006 un-oaked, I believe, btw.)

You are killing me man…I am trying to keep my wine purchases at a minimum bu that 04 Baron is on sale up here and calling my name. I have held off until now….my cellar thanks you ;)
QOTD – This is easy. My wife and a few friends always make fun of me for how I met another vayniac GregO. They call it how I met my internet wine boyfriend…..
Greg and I met in the forums and decided to meet at our local wine store to buy some of the latest release. We both wore our wristbands as a way of signifying our membership in the vayner nation (Greg thought he saw some older stuffy loser with the wristband but luckily he was mistaken). Anyways, we are now in a tasting group together, were down in Niagara with JoeG, G-Runge, Benny Shiraz this past weekend and are getting psyched about the Buffalo party (you need to confirm buddy!).

Great episode, wish I could afford to taste them for myself, maybe when I graduate from the CKC.

A label episode is a great idea, and just another thought, how about demystifying those crazy German Riesling labels and some of the other hard to decipher labels.

QOTD: My girlfriend and one of her friends have a “competition” going on to see who’s boyfriend has more “boyfriend points”. They both came to the realization that we are too similar because of our mutual love for G.V.

Enjoyed the Thunder-Show. Had to replace my monitor and didn’t have speakers until today, so I’ve got all of last week to watch. Did you know it’s difficult to read your lips? Except the opening and closing, of course. :)

Dude, a hot plum wrapped with bacon and stuffed with asparagus sounds great. I wonder how it would be in a wine, though. Is this a vegetable bomb?!
    :)

QOTD: I have communicated with Vaniacs via email and forums, but never met one in person (I’m sure they exist!) Favorite fellow Vaniac is also a fellow Raider fan! We met on Face Book and are looking forward to a great season for the Silver and Black where we double our wins from last year!

Wow that wine sounds good. QOTD: Wish I had a cool story. I wear my oakmonster tee to the gym thinkin I’ll meet another vayniac but no luck so far.

I’ve been thinking a lot about a system based on number of comments to give away the iPhone. The main problem with giving out gifts based on user names is that you cant verify true identity. Perhaps if you started a user/password database and start forcing people to login to post a comment, then you can verify a person’s identity. Unfortunately i can’t think of any bullet proof way to offer the iPhone based on the current comment system that isn’t susceptible to fraud. Hell, too many people would just try and claim to be Brandon M, or some other person who posts all the time.

I had thought of identifying people by IP address, but too many people have dynamic IP’s or watch the show and post from multiple locations.

Also, im concerned that creating contests based on comments will generate lots of generic pointless short comments by people trying to fluff the numbers….

QOTD: No stories for me. Although I tell people about WLTV all of the time, I have never met a Vayniac “in the wild.” :-(
