    Gary, Fantastic!! I am in.

Ian, good luck as host as Gary moves on to wine making. Based on your intro, you will change the wine world too.

My friends and I were going to make Zin through Crushpad next fall. Now we have an even bigger reason to do it twice. Count me in!

I think its awesome, I can most likely only afford 1 bottle…or maybe not if its $38. Well, whether I participate or not, I think its awesome!

    Gary,

Do you know that you can do this much closer to home? I make wine every year at the Wine Room in Livingston. The wine is delicious and during blind tastings it has scored very highly.

Just a thought: why not spread the wealth and do this around the country?

So the announcement was killer – very exciting stuff. It’s kind of funny about the Food Network stuff because I always talk about how I can’t believe they don’t have any show dedicated to wine. They even have that Thirsty Traveler guy working on Iron Chef America, but still no dedicated wine show.

So how is this going to work now that you are getting into the wine making side of things – even without “scoring” the wines, it seems like it could still be seen as a conflict of interest.

One more thing – I agree on Albarino, but I sometimes wonder about Arinto out of Portugal. Kind of versatile like Albarino, although they are markedly different, but the wine seem able to fit into several situations.

I’m in! A surprising, refreshing announcement, far from a disappointment. The food network thing would have been one though. I only watch TV on the internet now!

What fantastic news! I hope the price point will come in at a reasonable level considering the communal nature of this juice. If so, I’ll definitely be interested in purchasing a few bottles. I just wish I had the funds to fly out and enjoy the crafting experience (not to mention the final blend which would be a dream). Cheers!

Holy crap! You had me scared there for a minute! The opening, combined w/ your twitter message about buying facebook, had me thinking that Gary might actually be gone.

It’s good to see the tasting glass again.

I’ve got some Thundercats for you, and I’ll be sending them soon.

Wow! Thank you for choosing the west coast for this project. I hope I can make it to SF for some of it.

Your using your connections, some that most of us will never have access to. And with this your sharing the wealth to an army of people very eager to play a part in something that would easily be out of reach. Thank you for the oppurtunity. Big ups G-Man!

At first glance of the episode, i was ready to protest your replacement. I am relieved that it was a joke. i am anticipating a great announcement while i listen to this episode. I am enjoying the buildup….so far so good. I like the blending part, the community theme and wine party in SF. I’m signing up. See you in October. I cannot believe! Great idea!

Nevermind, just saw the link to the Vayniac cab in episode 306… $38. I may have to make it 1/2 case…My credit card just took a beating on a recent trip to OR wine country.

    Gary,

Congrats! I’m sure the 500 cases will go fast, I’ll put in for at least a case. I’m not sure I can get out there for the crush or barrel tasting, but will definitely try and make the release party. Will be great to meet the other Vayniacs!

P.S. What’s the projected price range per bottle?

Make the wine age-worthy!! I want to be able to open a bottle 15 years from now, once Chateau de Vaynerchuck has gained world renound, and say “I have the premier vintage”!!
