    QOTD: it used to be Team Flakes, but I haven’t been able to find them in about 5 years. They must’ve discontinued them. They were a stupendous Meritage of Wheat, Corn, Rice, and Oats.

    Nowadays, I tend to mix 2-4 different cereals together, never the same blend twice. If I’m in a square mood, I’ll go with Quaker Oatmeal Squares blended with Kashi Autumn Wheat shredded wheat; if I’m in a flake mood it will be Smart Start, Honey Bunches of Oats, and a healthy portion of Giant Granola. With other stuff mixed in, as I experiment with new flakes/squares.

    QOTD: I could eat cap’n crunch with crunchberries out of a punch bowl. Absolutely addicting, cannot get full. (Although I saw they are bringing Count Chocula back – I smell T.R.O.U.B.L.E.)

    Prices sound reasonable for the South African wines.

    I am addicted to classic Corn Flakes, with fresh fruit thrown in.

    QOTD: Definitely not an addiction but I like Life with yogurt clusters. But DT is on the money with Irish Oats (I have steal-cut, I don’t know if that’s the same thing as whole grain), they are delicious.

    I really enjoyed the new intro. Great job on that.

    On the topic of merlot, it was actually the first type of wine that I ever drank and I totally love it. I’ve never seen Sideways, but just since you talk about it so much, I think I’m going to have to rent it and see what you’re talking about.

    QOTD: It’s either honey nut cheerios or honey bunches of oats. I like the honey at breakfast a whole lot.

    Love your episodes, Gary…you know I do! And hey…welcome back, Eric!!!:} If I ate cereal, I would probably want..I think it’s called ‘Cinnamon Grahams’? I could eat that like candy, but I don’t, ‘cuz it will go straight to where I don’t want it to go!:}

    Great episode today. Who’s the profile camera man??? Any how I’ll start seeking out some S.A. wines to try. QOTD I like Golden Grahams, with a close second being Good Ole LIFE cereal. However Captain Crunch would be the ultimate if you didn’t have bloody gums after eating it. Thanks Gary and WLTV crew.

    About the numbers: ” In 1983 I asked the journalist Sheldon Wasserman not to publish scores for my wines… in which a comparison becomes a divisive numerical term rather than expressing shared human toil. I have not changed my mind: my tiny farm producing 20,000 bottles of wine a year interests only a small number of customer-friends… I think of my hills as an anarchical arena, with no inquisitors or opposing factions, whose inner richness is stimulated by severe, thoughtful critics; I strive for a community that can still express solidarity with whoever has not been so well-rewarded by Mother nature. Wishful thiking? Allow me to dream.”
    -Teobaldi Cappellano

    also refer to the recent Eric Asimov post regarding wine and context… to me, the context is so important when it comes to wine… just like people… If you know where a person is coming from, you can understand them better, love them and embrace their flaws…

    I have been trying to drink as many SA wines I could find ever since you reviewed The Wolftrap (which i really really liked). How could you keep your SA QPR reccos. from us? Come on GV, share those $40-50 bottle finds with your devoted Vayniacs!

    QOTD: I dont think I have had cereal for breakfast (other than oatmeal) in over a year. Wow, that really caused me to pause and think)
