Sorry about your loss yesterday. This weekend was a perfect football weekend for me. My son is a lineman for his high school team and they got their first win! (He got two sacks!!!) Plus the Raiders won their first away game in who knows how long!

QOTD: A transition wine for me has been French Chablis. I have not like Chardonnay until taseting several Chablis. They changed my mind about what the grape can bring!

QOTD: 2000 Havens Bourriquot-American Bordeaux blend Cab Franc Merlot (half bottle-I think it might have had a little quick aging if yah know what I mean)-revoplution to my taste buds. American Bordeaux style not pandering itself as a meritage, it was hot stuff.

    Some good wines today!

QOTD. Transition wine. I’ll have to think about that.

well the 2003 Bourdeaux was rated in several polls as the best of the northwest and thus is unobtainable. You were lucky to have one. The 2004 is still available, but is a different blend/animal. Alas every field goal can’t be 60 yards. Football metaphor for ya.

I REALLY need to start drinking more Washington wines…I keep telling myself this, but I never seem to do it.

The final wine you tastes in this ep. sounds intriguing! Would be interested in you trying the 2004 of this wine as well, as it appears this is what will be available to those of us joining the mailing list.

U iws hmy wife was yours

Woohoo. Finally caught up on episodes so I can take the time to comment.

Living in Dallas, not a huge Cowboys fan, but much more so than the Jets. Very interested in seeing Thanksgiving game due to the whiteboard with “Cowgirls”earlier in the year.

QOTD: Nothing yet. My palate is still a virgin when it comes to being able to taste all the flavors of the rainbow.

To whomever did the same Google search as me and bought the last two bottles of the Boudreaux from AWineStore.Com – I knew I shouldn’t have hesitated on buying it! Grrrrrr :)

Great show Gary. I would love to get a hold of that Cabernet Sauvignon but Canada sucks. I guess I gotta drive or fly. :) .

Gary, Sorry about the Jets, but imagine the pain of a Mets fan!!!! And the Eagles seem to be folllowing the road to loserdom also after the high hopes.
qotd: I don’t think I’ve found one yet.

    :-(
I agree with BF… you have got us so tuned to Jets football, (when before WLTV I could have given a rats batootee) now I’m feeling disappointed when I see they don’t win. That’s just SICK!!
    Go Pack!

I’ve just gotten into the wineworld, and I’mma seriously try that last wine, you really inspired me to go and buy a wine, instead of the shit I have to drink from my dad

QOTD: Mas de Boislauzon 2003 chateauneuf du pape. Believe it or not, I had struck out many times with cheaper rhones. This one was irresistable at the store with a shelf talker saying RP 92 and a price of $19.99. It was an awesome wine and I look forward to many more like it.

Hey man, sorry about the NY Jets (and NY Mets!). You should know that many Vayniacs have “adopted” your team–I actually frowned when I saw the Jets score, even though I’m a Packer guy and they are awesome this year.

If Ray Lewis had the lousy D-line that Vilma has(which LEWIS did and oh yeah he sucked and cried about it to the press) he would be tackling 5 yards down field also- And Vilma is overated! I agree but it is the LOUSY COACHES FAULT

  17. October 1, 2007

    KAHUNA

Dude- your team switched defenses that does not play to Vilmas strengths- BLAME YOUR COACH- you dope!

Your offense has lousy play calling- How can you blame the QB for running the plays the coach calls- They do not get the plays in in time and need to burn time outs for no reason-

Your coach is looking like HERM EDWARDS MORE EVERY GAME-

Very funny on the one man show thing-!!!

    nice show GV!

tried some of those cheeses over the weekend and although I liked the the bomme bouche (VT FTW) the petite frere wasn’t all that. I’m like you, dirty farm cheese is the way to go, and the frere had a manufactured “chemical” aspect to it.

also after a review like that, I had to pick up some boudreaux. You can find in on winesearcher pro for 40 a pop. lata GV have a blast in london!

“..alright guys, this is a one man show…” Classic :)

So, did you like that last wine or what?

QOTD. Chateau Musar, Gaston Hochar, 1999. That is the closest I’ve come to a wine that blew me away. I’m still learning, have many more to taste, but so far that was it.

QOTD: Hendry Ranch Wines…their Zin, Block 7 a while back…probably ‘03 vintage, maybe ‘02. Really opened up a new side of American Zinfandel to me, that I have forever craved since.

Top ten? Gary, sorry about the loss. I was actually in Jersey for a wedding this past weekend, and ended up catching part of the game and the bride’s parents home yesterday. The touchdown drive I saw looked great, sorry they couldn’t pull it out! Looking forward to the video.
