GV – dont be too sad, I watched my Broncos down in what had to be their worse performance in 30 yrs! I may live in San Diego, but my heart is still in Denver, it was not pleasant at my house and not much fun around the office w/all the Charger bandwagon fans.

QOTD: Met some friends for wine Sunday and they want to do a wine party this weekend -so we suggested everyone bring a bottle with a brown bag and do some blind tasting.

Gary- What can I say about your Jets. I feel you. I’m a Chiefs fan. we will get through this together. Next wine tasting this Thursday Manhattan, Kansas. Outside, on the main strip! Kinda like Burbon Street but with a little class and no beads.

Good show. I been afraid of Beaujolais b/c of the carbonic maceration and baby plastic pool/banana smell I tend to get! It was not until someone gave me a glass from Brouilly (blind) that I totally could appreciate the gamay grape. QOTD: Thursday @ my WSET class-or 17th @ our WineMeUp neighborhood wineclub. Italy is this months pleasure!

I like episodes like this because they remind me to keep looking for value. I have been leary of trying wines that cost less than $10, thinking they can’t be good. Since seeing shows like this I have tried them. Even though I don’t often find a great wine, I do learn about what I like and don’t like. Thanks, Gary, for constantly challenging us to not get stuck in a rut!

QOTD: Sadly, I don’t have a wine tasting planned. I used to go at least every weekend, but with my son’s high school football games conflicting, I am taking a break. I wouldn’t want to miss a single game, so it’s not a big sacrifice. This is the school’s second year and they are 2&2. Go Pride!

At least you are not a Bills fan, whose team has now lost 2 games on last second field goals!

    Gary,

I have a strong suspicion that Terra Andina that you drank is not the same wine that is sold here in Brazil. Over here, it is a really well made inexpensive carmenere (no “i” there. not Janis, not carmeniere either! :P ). I’ve been in contact with some of those wines designed for a specific market and it can be a totally different juice. Did you ever commented on the differences in wines brands (same label) for different markets? Being such a taboo topic I believe it would be perfect conversation on WLTV.

    Sorry about the Jets, mate!

QOTD: Getting married in Napa on the 21st. Have a bus tour lined up for our guests, so my next official wine tastings will be Flora Springs, Silverado, and Alpha Omega.

I agree with your comments about Brouilly. If people haven’t tried good cru beau, they need to…unless they are big oak and fruit aussie freaks.

QOTD: Tomorrow night, friends house, blind tasting, only rule is must be a rhone varietal.

QOTD: Since I am watching this on Tuesday morning, I am cheating on the QOTD…”my next wine tasting is”…was last night at the West Orange Manor Super Tasting on Monday, Oct 8th… It was great meeting you last night and we had a great time!

My friends thought I was nuts when I was telling them that the wine tasted like grass, green apple jolly ranchers, dirt, vegetables, etc.
