Gary even when you are sick you look adorable. And you should know that a hot bowl of Chicken soup will take away your pains. I should know…. I am a Jewish mother and if near you would pop by with a pot of soup. So stay in bed and rest up. Thanks for reminding me that I turned sssssssss….But I am still the Dancing Queen forever and a day. Love ya Barbara-your canadian friend

QOTD: Depends on the sickness for but, for tummy troubles I always opt for ginger “tea” We steep some fresh ginger in boiling water for about 15 minutes and then add lemon or lime and honey. makes me feel good. Warm ginger ale also helps. I guess I use the ginger tea for a sore throat, too now that I think of it. But for a cold I opt for OJ or better yet an Emergen-C or two in some very cold water.

    Get Well Soon!

Cold or stomach? If you have a cold, drink lots of water, tons of vitamin C and Zinc… and rest. If it’s the stomach, lots of cold ginger ale, and if you want to eat, stick to apples and crackers.

    Get well!

You are wearing yourself thin! Slow down. I’ve always wondered and blogged about professional wine and food critics and what they do when they get sick because they can’t taste anything. It is the equivalent of a movie critic going temporarily blind and not being able watch a flick. Can one actually give an honest review of a wine with all its subtlties with a cold? Tough one. Feel better!!

I drink tons and tons of airborne and Emergent-C (this stuff really works) when I feel even the twinge of a cold coming on and I vitamin up as well. Usually I start feeling my glands in my neck tighten and I attack it right away. It just happened to me yesterday and I’m getting panicked b/c I’m going the NY Wine Experience this week and I don’t want to have it ruined by a cold.

So far so good. It is working. Plus, plenty of sleep and absolutely NO ALCOHOL. It is the worst thing for a cold or sickness. It beats up the weakened immune system and dehydrates you as well.

Sleep in GV. I’m sure you do it once every 3 years. I like to drink OJ with oyster crackers in it. Gross, I know. But it makes me feel better. And I have to say that when I’m sick, I run back to beer. Canadian persuasion. Clears me up.

    Gatorade. And water.
My father in law gave me a shot of honey brandy one time. I think it almost made me blind.
