Flu doesn’t go away in one or two days. See you next week, Gary. Wine does not taste good AT ALL when you have the flu. It’s time to take a few days off of wine. I recently was wondering myself.. Gary has not had a flu since I started watching WLTV way over a year ago. I had it TWICE this year, for some reason. QOTD: Lobster Bisque, which doesn’t go well with flu either. Very hot little pot of lobster bisque with a glass of chilled crisp chardonnay or pinot gris.

Since you are in the area Pal’s Cabin cream of mushroom is as advertised, absolutely fantastic. Otherwise New England clam chowder is the bomb when done right. As for the Ms. lobster bisque is a must, or italian wedding soup. Get better bro.

U wish my wife was yours

    Hope you’re feeling better.

I don’t like cats like I don’t like those Facebook and MyPspace sights so the world will have to do without on more cat.

My idea for an episode it to taste the secondary wines of the higher priced wines. For example, I just learned the other day that the maker of Amon Ra (which I really liked) has a lower priced label. The same for Chateau Lafite Rothschild. They have some kind of 2nd Cru that I tried a while back. I think you get the idea.

QOTD: My favorite soup was a Lobster Bisque we had on Celebrity Cruises one time.

QOTD: My Lobster Bisque. Takes most of an afternoon to make classicly but the first spoonful transports you and everything’s right with the world for 1/2 hour or so.

Get well soon Gary. I’m still trying to shake a flu that I’ve had for several days now. I went back to work today after taking two days off. I was out of it by 11am.
QOTD: sorry to toot my own horn, but my favorite soup is what I call “Coast Guard Soup” which is a variation of a Portugese Kale soup. It’s beef based and it also has Lingica, (a Portugese sausage) potatoes, carrots, celery, green beans, parsnips, onions and a few other secret things. I also dig a good Italian fish stew, leek/potato soup, turkey soup and others.

Wow. Rough week. Get better soon, man. We love you.

QOTD: Toss up. I love the potato and sausage soup from Olive Garden. Soup, salad and breadstick combo is brilliant. Perhaps with a nice rose, yes? I also love a few Asian soups. Comes from growing up in Taiwan. Some pho, some hot pot, some tom yum gai, whatever.

Rest up, enjoy your fine food, and we’ll see you soon.

Favourite soup is surely Pho Bo – Vietnamise Beef Noodle soup, ideally cooked up at a Saigon street stall that uses the pavement for a chopping board and charges around five cents a bowl (tipping does seem appropriate). Those guys work so hard, display so much dignity in the midst of serious adversity… and make such good soup, it’s humbling. Check http://www.noodlepie.com/ – great blog with a Pho Bo recipe on the front page. Good luck with your new site and get well!

QOTD: too many to pick just one. But you might want to try a homemade soup with kielbasa, cabbage, carrots, potatoes, corn, PLENTY of onions and garlic, and black pepper, and chipotle pepper powder. Maybe throw in some black eyed peas or navy beans too, if you’re in a bean mood. Easy to make, good for what ails ya. Try it – you’ll thank me. Get better.

Hope ya start feeling better soon. I’m telling ya, drink hot lemonade.

QOTD: When I’m sick I put jalapeños in everything to clear myself up. Gotta agree with Marc, lemongrass.

Here is a repeat of what I wrote on Monday…………

My sick day drink is a whole lot of hot tea with a hand full (3000 mg) of vitamin C. I repeat the vitamin C in 12 hours. Plus one tablet (not two) of Sudifed and 1000 mg of tylenol initally times one dose and then repeat one tablet (not two) of Sudifed and 325 mg of Tylenol with a hot tea chaser every six hours for a total of three times. This always makes me feel well within the day and I am up and going strong without any additional medication for days to weeks except for my daily dose of 500 mg of vitamin C. What a concoction…..but a good sick day one.
