My wife just got back from the Rockies, visiting one of our sons, where she acquired a taste for the 7 deadly zins.
    Thought I give a lookie-look.
    Ouch!
Maybe I’ll buy one bottle, and we will just smell it.

Cool concept for the episode, but Im sorry they didnt dazzle the ol’ taste buds. Oh well, your pain is our gain (passing on the wines). QOTD: Treat: Dinner at Cafe Juanita a month ago, which is always a fantastic experience. Trick: Letting this election (2008 Presidential race ) get to me with all the lies and bashing from both sides.

I thought the Pure Evil was crap too.

QOTD: Can’t think of anything that has tricked me recently, but have had plenty of treats! Tried a fancy sake for the first time which was delicious, and had octopus salad.

I reviewed this wine recently on http://www.winebeagles.com. You and I must have completely different taste when it comes to Zins. Some Zins fall flat and have too much spice on the end (such as the 2002 Ravenswood Monte Rosso Zinfandel I had last night) and some are like sticky sweet fortified fruit bombs like the 2003 Rombauer Napa Valley Zinfandel (purchased at the winery in 2006). I did not get the BMX-burnt rubber thing on this one. In fact, I thought it was really lush and tasty from start to finish! I rated it highly. Right up there with some of my favorite Seghesios. Such a value. I paid $17 for it–I’d love to know where they have it for $13! What a wonderful world of wine this is–everyone is satisfied no matter what… Don’t get me wrong—I respect and value your opinion—but I loved this wine. It was just delicious.

I was THE BMX kid 25 years ago. I would melt down the whole wheel just by braking in front of the traffic light. You know what I am blathering about, aren’t you? Ok but the thing is more complicated: I am Swiss but the whole thing happended in Germany where I lived then. I got arrested by the German police for not respecting the speed limit! With a BMX bike! Imagine! The whole rubber melted down on the street, so I got accused for violating several environmental protecion laws just because of hitting the brake on my BMX bike! I could go on and on but Gary I have to finish here.

Howdy, Gary. I’m a lurker coming out of the shadows. You know you love it. I watch your shows mostly as QuickTimes via iTunes, and I couldn’t help but notice that you talk about links and other text that should be showing up on screen, yet I never see them display. Are you guys having problems finding a reliable post production person? I understand that it’s hard, because you do the show daily and you would probably need to find someone who would be willing to do it basically for free. Anyway, I was just curious what the sitch is regarding that.

    Best Regards,

I was looking forward to the 7 Deadly Zins tasting – because I hated it (Yep, I’m hating on this wine)and I was curious what your take was.

    QOTD:
My last trick was in bio 201. I got a 59 on the final after studying like a maniac. The score made me 3 points short of getting a B and a seat on the waiting list for nursing college. GRRR!

My last treat – FREE SHIPPING COUPON ON MY WL ORDER LAST WEEK! Yay Yay Yay! I love, love, loved it so much I ordered TWICE!

Fun show! I have seen the “7″ on the shelves, but the “slick” label had me wary. I am still curious to try it, perhaps more so now. Thanks!

QOTD: Trick: Investing in real-estate. Treat: Hanging out with my kids.

I’ll stop lurkin’ for today! ;-)
Thumbs up for the last minutes of this episode… You can’t give better advice about changing the wine world than convincing people to think about the wine a little bit more and working more with your nose!

At least for me, this show combined with corkd (me there: http://corkd.com/people/plastikstuhl/ ) changed my wine world step by step…

As a result, a friend of mine and me now scedule dates for drinking wine together and talk about it. I can recommend this to anybody who wants to get a bit more into wine: talk, talk, talk! Share your taste and experiences… That can change your wine world too.

    And talking about community:
I want one of those wristbands… there must be at least one piece left, right?!

    cheers!

I had the Sinister Hand the other day and totally thought it was an over-done fruit bomb. Tasted like grenadine to me…too much sugar in the washington state wines i’ve tried so far.

Last year Trick or Treating I was 18. Got lots of bad looks from people. Tried going when I was 20 one week before halloween telling the houses it was a new holiday for older kids, got some fruit, chocolate syrup and laundry detergent. It was at that point we realized it might be more fun to go Christmas Caroling. Man did that confuse people.

Holy Crap! Look at the size of that spit bucket! That EVIL label has got to be one of the sweetest design ideas I’ve seen! How so perfectly evily goodness it is. Even though you’re droppin the pass-bomb on EVIL, the artist in me refuses to NOT take on this challenge. I mean flip the text vertically: LIVE my friends, LIVE. You can’t live without trying something you’re gonna hate: How can you know “good” without knowing “evil”. Man I should do a commercial for them…

There hasn’t really been a wine I LOVED yet, so I’ll give this sucker a go! (XOXO nearly made my tongue retreat up my nasal canal early this month).

Why the hell does the “7″ in 7 Deadly Zins have a halo over it!? It’s not “7 Holy Virues”… Cool label still though. I’m loving this episode :) . I used to be a massive BMX rider. There’s a hill in the bark two blocks away that kicked my ass big time.

    Thanks for the Halloween treat!

If you had an hour long show, wouldn’t you need guests? Like the late nite guys do?

QOTD: Tricked: Just now..I ordered a mild salsa burrito bol from Chipotle and it was hot as heck!
Treat: The gallon of water I just drank to restore feeling in my tongue.

Yeah!! Lets make it an hour. We all know we love the wine. Make time for it!
