vietti 2001 barolo. after years of having viette's "entry level wines, i knew it was time to step it up. these wines are gorgeous. nebbiolo has quickly surpassed pinot noir as my favorite. the viette goes down as one of the single best life experiences. ahh... if only i could afford more.

GV – I’ve got a lot of Barolos in my cellar and have been drinking them for many years. I’ve made several trips to the Piedmonte and have to say it is by far the best wine region to visit. All of Italy is crazy about wine but this place is over the top! Italian wines and especially Barolos are made to go with food. The truffles and earthy flavors of the Langhe match perfectly. Truffle season and harvest are in October, go, you will never regret it. Once you try a Barolo and you truly study them, you’ll always love them.

QOTD: Best Barolo I’ve ever had is a toss up between a 1997 Paolo Scavino Bric del Fiasc and 2001 Roberto Voerzio La Serra.

whaddaya know I want to get into Barolos and my friends at WLTV have a couple of episodes for me to watch!! You guys rock.

QOTD: Just had an 03 Michele Chiarlo Barolo, and I will definitely say it intrigued me more than anything else. Nebbiolo is such an interesting grape. Have had a Gaja Conteisa, and just recently the Gaja Sito Moresco, and I'm definitely getting hooked on the Nebb.

...and with a lot of me we are changing the wine world, aren't we? Barolo is kicking arse! I am big Barolo lover. One of the best wines I ordered in a restaurant was a Barolo for 90 Swiss francs a qpr steal right there!

I have never had a Barolo, but have tried a low-end Barbaresco, which was pretty nice. I have 3 Barolo's in my collection, and am looking forward to trying them. They sound like my style; elegant but structured with autumnal/ floral characteristics.
