Sir Gary, the best, the truth, the one and only.

Let him have a show once a month.

Looking for a previous topic on wine sludge and cannot seem to find it.

    Thanks

Another great episode. I absolutely love Sir Gary. I cant see how you can do that in one take without laughing or accidently slipping back to the real you. Top notch job once again. QOTD: (I say this to you, Sir Gary...) Simply because Gary makes wine enjoyable, without all the uppity nonsense that is associated with it. Youve probably never danced in the rain, have you, Sir Gary? Youve probably never Sat in front of the TV and ate an entire bag of potato chips, eh Sir Gary? Youve probably never tried that little out of the way restaurant because it didnt get 2 Michelin Stars! You need to live, Sir Gary. DAMN YOU, LIVE!!!!!
  • HAHA! I never saw this the first time. This was amazingly well done and cracked me up. Most excellent work Gary!
  • LuvsChandon
"You are confused, and I am sad..." LMAO.

Great show, loved the music in the background and the general ATTITUDE.
Glad I finally saw this one, time to seek out a nice Loire Sancerre!
  • LMAO, Great show Gary, you should do something like this once a week, just change it up from your regular persona, the background music is a nice effect. You should use Quid instead of Pounds though, that is how those englishmen refer to it.

I watch the show because it is AWESOME!
  • JudeMurphy
    What a delightfully controversial show!
"Lord HaHa" seemed to have missed the point a bit! Gary knows all too well that there's nothing wrong with English wine drinkers. It's a wind up, Sir. HaHa!
As for Mr. Rogers... "fudge pack"? In England that's what your NAME means!! haha!
Great one, Gary. Loved reading these comments!
Don't usually comment on old episodes, but couldn't help it this time! ; )
  • Oakmon's BF
Sir Gary, you’ve got to be true to yourself. You don’t want to change the wine world. You like the old style serious, superior, exclusive wine world. You need your own signoff linesomething like “preserving the wine world for the worthy few”.
  • Oliver
Awesome episode! Love the parody.I've only had one red from Sancerre, a Sautereau Sancerre Rouge '05. I thought it was really exciting. Light, earthy and funky, with lots of mineral and tart red fruit. I hope you shed more light on these wines.
  • Sev
I cannot believe you stayed in character the entire show! That must have been exhausting. Very funny though, I especially liked when you made Mott laugh. I knew there were reds made in Loire, but I thought they were mostly Cabernet Franc. Does Sancerre Rouge have to be Pinot? Very cool show, thanks.

QOTD: I watch to learn, for entertainment, and because I just like Gary V.
  • Michael H.
Can't wait to try some Sancerre. Did not know it is Sauvignon Blanc.

QOTD: For knowledge, entertainment, and for the fact that I haven't missed an episode in over a year...
  • B. Rodgers
Hey Chito are you sure your name is spelled right an S instead of a C sounds better Mr. Shito don't get wrong I love a good wine and those who do like wise but I'm not the turn the other cheek kind of person I'm the roll over you until your buried type. You think these guys are funny, well maybe so or NOT SO MUCH. They must be a little short in the Dick to bash other cultures and those who are truely seeking more knowledge about wine.
  • Badger Ann
Still catching up! I watch Gary on WLTV because he's fun, entertaining, and he's not afraid to use examples from his own life to show the important connection between wine, family, friends, and all the good things we celebrate. Oh, and the old-school WWF references are awesome too!
  • Dan-o
I watch this show because wine should be fun.Gary V makes it fun, unlike the "Sir man" from Europe who is so pretentious that the stick in his rear end shows!
  • chito
Here we go again, Sorry Scott. That was for B. Rodgers.
  • chito
Sorry Scott. That was for B. Anderson.
  • chito
Gary, One word, OUTSTANDING!!!. This is exactly why I watch. HAVING FUN WITH WINE. Gary, keep up the geat work. To Scott Anderson and LordHaHa, don't know what you guys are watching but when you guys open your eyes what do you see? Ya'll got any polyps up there? Both of you quit watching. you don't get it and never will.
  • B. Rodgers
Hey Scott Anderson I'll relax after you and that puss on this show fudge pack each other.
  • Lord HaHa
I understand what you're trying to do with WLTV and I enjoyed it but taking the piss out of the English and acting like a dick just lost you a couple of fans. I understand you think it's tongue in cheek but please don't ham up a very real rift between English and American wine drinkers. Surely you realise that you have english fans? I suppose they don't count because they can't buy from WineLibrary?

Want to change the wine world? Help unite it. You know very well that the days of egg sucking English aristocrats ruling our press is coming to an end. Don't exploit an old stereotype.

And before you say "lighten up, it's just a joke", it was patronising and racist. You don't need to stoop to Sir Gary, your style is just great. Acting in that way makes you seem insecure.

FYI - Jancis Robinson, plus a little bit of me, could kick your BUTT, VEY-NER-CHUK!
  • QOTD: cause I learn a lot, and constantly gain the opportunity to bang my head against my desk for not being able to find the great wines available in the US.
  • michael
i watch cause GV ROCKS. sir, you may go home.
  • Bundydb
    I am excited.... Very excited....

That was great! Long live Sir Gary

QOTD: I watch this show for the education, entertainment (I love your over the top humor) and what's wrong with bettering yourself? ; ) As big as this show is, you are personal with all your fans and I respect you for that. It takes a LOT of time to do that and we all appreciate it!

Keep up the great work and you know we will all keep watching and learning (at least I'm still learning), Kelly
  • Alos
I am posting again because I tried some of this and it was great! Awesome wine with chicken soup! I will try few others too! Thanks
  • Andy
We love Sir G's good looks and his mature knowledge of the old grape juice.
  • Scott Anderson
That is freaking hilarious! I'll bet you nearly had your head explode holding back your normal enthuiasm and energy like that.

Gary, you continue to entertain and educate me, and I tell everyone I know about you. Thanks for the satire and B. Rodgers, eat a cheeseburger and RELAX!!!
  • I think Sir GV's closing tag line should be something like, "Because I, and those like me, are resisting your attempts to change the wine world and its traditions, whether you like it or not."

    QOTD: Because it's FUN!
  • Sir Gary is all right every now and then, but the real Gary is more entertaining.

We know from the real Gary that GV is not a wine snob. None of us are wine snobs either, which is why we watch.
  • Alex
QOTD: I watch the Thunder Show because Gary entertains the hell out of me. I laugh at his crazy antics, and most importantly to him I'm sure, I've tried wine, and I never really wanted to beforehand.
  • Whoever that character is... he is amazing and needs to make more appearances.
  • Hey Gary! thanks for the laugh man :) i watch ur show cause ur accessible, and u believe in educating people and youll make alot of money and customer loyalty because of that. even the janitor drinks wine. wine is truly fun at all levels. ditto, i learn things watching ur show.there will always be those people who are stuck on the same things. and there will always be those people who swear the sunset is the most beautiful where they live. the sunset is beautiful yes. but the truth is, the sunset is amazing in many places. you could easily end up with your own show on the food network. i called it!
  • desmaic
nicely done with the moonlight sonata.... this is actually fairly close to the video quality you get from Spectator... captain fancy britches.
  • jcrazy
QOTD: I'll be honest: I watch the show for the Thunder Cats.
  • Combsy
    Dude, where are you!
  • Sir GV...What have you done with GV?
  • Neil
    No Laid Back Friday????????????????????????????????

    TALK TO ME!
  • Cliff
    Gary's MIA. Hope he's well.
  • No "Laid Back Friday" :(

Oh well. Off to quaff some Erbes Riesling and with dinner I'll have a Longboard Merlot. I have not clue how the Murrlow will taste.

    Go Colts!

    TGIF
  • SoCal
