Are you trying to tell us you don’t write things on your hand in pen?

2004 Nova Serra Greco di Tufo. I don’t think you did that one on the show but you did one GDT and I’ve been trying all sorts of varietals and regions since I started watching that I doubt I would have otherwise and this one was really a hit

Casa Marin. Great wine, would have never found it on my own.

QOTD: Cambiata Tannat. I loved this wine with its deep chocolates, dark berries, and slight astringency (pucker factor). Plus Tannat wines in the Madiran style are purported to be very healthful for the heart. Kudos to the maker, and thanks for reviewing this wine!

    Hey Gary-

Well done! Thanks for the heads up on the Beaujolais Nouveau. I’m going to a party tonight to taste this year’s batch. I’m going to set my expectations low so that maybe the Beaujolais will surprise. Can’t wait to try the 2005 Coume Del Mas Schistes.

    Great show once again!

    QOTD: Trinchero Merlot.
The lable, the price, the Merlot.. None of it really appealed to me when I passed it in the isles. Then Gary reviewed it and gave it a thumbs up.. So I tried it.
    It was pretty good.
    It’s a good go-to for inexpensive wines.

WOTD: wines i started checking out more because of WLTV: priorat, barbera, dolcetto (not my thing), cru beajolais; producers i had never heard of like patty green, jacob franklin, philip togni; grapes i had never heard of like verdello and ribolla giallo.

    this service is fantastic.

Good Show GV!!! St. Julian is a nice place to visit too and they have surprisingly decent wines!! Glad you found a good one! Always loved the wines from the Languedoc region, can’t wait till you discover more from there. Will seek this one out!

Thanks for the free shipping your always thinking of us!!

QOTD: Tocai from Italy…I never would have even THOUGHT to enjoy a white wine that much! You have opened my eyes to many new adventures…Sancerre is fabulous too because of you! Your palate seems to match what I look for so its nice to have a guide!! THANKS!

QOTD: I think WLTV has turned my attention to new varietals of wine that I did not know about before (i.e. Primitivo, Zinfandel, Sangiovese), but the problem is that I have a difficult time finding a lot of the specific labels here in Texas. Whenever I DO find one though, my husband makes fun of how excited I get! I have tried a couple of Mollydookers after the infamous episode and I enjoyed the Pillar Box Red that you had on one of the laid-back Fridays. I have a list of some of the more expensive wines that you’ve loved so that I can try one on a special occasion sometime.

I’m really looking forward to my Thanksgiving 4-pack! It’s being delievered today!

Gary, thanks for checking out St. Julian. I would absolutely love an all MI wine show, what can I say… I’m a little selfish. :p

QOTD – I’m deciding what my first WL purchase should be… thanks for the free shipping too. :)

QOTD: Well…I guess all in all there are not many wines that I’m not willing to try first & formost. However, I will credit my attempts to even out my cellar to watching WLTV. I’m trying to get a few more “long term” whites in my cellar beyond Sauternes, Chardonnay, and Riesling…cheers. Great Show.

Thanks Gary for tasting a wine from Michigan! Yes, there are actually 50 winery’s in this great state! I would say you can’t go wrong with a Riesling from Michigan!!!

    Cheers to all!

I don’t understand the whole Nouveau craze myself. I bought a bottle last year for the first time and was totally disappointed by it. It is definitely a modern wine marketing miracle. However, I have to say I think that Champagne is THE wine marketing miracle. :-) But that’s neither here nor there.

QOTD: No one specific wine per se, but I have tried Albarino because of WLTV!

    Hi Gary,
happy birthday — a bit late but OK with me because it comes with the arrival of the Beaujolais Nouveau, and your bashing comes close to my French heart — who could never understand, nor comprehend — this marketing hype of fake pleasures!
so here’s my gift : I’ve pinned down the two momentum episodes, when you revved up your coming — on episode 79, it became “…Vayner-chuk”, and on episode 111 THE big jump : “Vay-ner-chuk”. The guns where now ready to blast!
Trivia, certainly, but isn’t that part of any pleasure…

QotD: There are a couple that come to mind. Specifically the Big Moose Red which was surprisingly tasty for such an inexpensive wine, and the Primitivo was very good as well.

QOTD: Dolcetto and Barbera in general as well as the Catsle Rock Pinot! Thanks!

Great Episode, no great week of episodes so far. Can’t wait for Friday’s episode.

    Hi Gary,
I am watching a lot of your show and I really enjoy it.
Today the Beaujolais Nouveau comment made me a bit disappointed as it was not presented well. We all know that Beaujolais nouveau is not about a fantastic wine it is simply a wine which is made to celebrate the end of harvest and respecting all the people who where involved. Going through Carbonic fermentation it does keep the freshness and suit perfectly what is meant to match, barbecue or other party meal.
I have to say there is a lot of producer out there beside George Duboeuf who make probably better balanced fresh and fruity wine to suit the event. For saying that USA is number 3 world wide of Beaujolais Nouveau consumption…
