    Gary – Great show today.

QOTD: It will be two wines for the main event Thankgiving:

2005 Coume del Mas Collioure Schistes (Episode #352 and awaiting FEDEX now)and 2004 Chiarello Family Vineyards Zinfandel Giana (need an American wine on T-Day!)

Add to this a pre-dinner tasting of the 4 in the Secret Pack with family in NC.

I got two Secret Packs and have tasted the 3 reds. I will be interested as to how my tasting notes compare with yours. Oh, there will probably be an Alsacian Rieslings somewhere over the course of events T-Day

well Valentin if you are having your crabcakes with a (common in the US) Chipotle Pepper creme sauce, then a schpate-laze-uh would be appropriate.

Gary are you nuts? Riesling Spätlese with residual sugar for crab cake? Take a Sauvignon Blanc, a Riesling bone dry, a white Burgundy, a Grüner Veltliner, a new world Chardonnay but with low residual sugar level and no/very little oak.

What am I drinking during Thanksgiving? Martinelli’s Sparkling Cider. Yup.

But I’m coming in to pick up some Leocadie Les Clauses, Thom Clark, and the Triennes Saint Auguste. Oh yeah…

for thanksgiving we ordered up some:
    - Palestra Douro
    - The Klinker
    - Green Groves Chard
    - The Black Chook
and since it sounded so good I just pulled the trigger on 4 bottles of that Triennes.

    Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Razor sharp like Blanca from Mortal Kombat. That may be one of the best wine-tasting notes ever. HOWEVER, the folks above ARE correct that Blanca was in SF, what they didn’t seem to figure out is that you were still CORRECT, but you were referring to Baraka with the razors. So correction there which does NOT outweigh the brilliance of the comment!

QOTD: Going to figure it out today on the fly with my local wine store. But I’m thinking a Ridge Zin blend and a cru Beaujolais.

QOTD: Uuuuhhhh, I will be drinking the Thanksgiving 4 pack, the day after Thanksgiving, at home, with my wife and friends for the Texas v. Texas A&M game. I will not be taking wine to Turkey Day, primarily because certain members of my family are shameless alcoholics who don’t necessarily like the tasted of wine, yet will “drink” it anyway…and by drink, I mean pour into the largest glass available and chug. No, really. You only make that mistake once. I will let them down their Target box Cube, and $5 jugs of distilled crap. Hey, you can’t pick your family, so just play the hand your dealt. I will probably take along some beers, and watch the drama. It’s honestly better than TV. Oh, and I will sneak a flask of JD over to celebrate the Cowboys 42-14 victory over Your New York Jets. Sometimes whiskey is a really good coping mechanism as well. Going to be a good one. I love the holidays.

I will be enjoying a VJB Cellars Proseco to start and their 2005 Mendocino Barbera
for the holiday. On the way up to Sonoma we found a little cheese purveyor- hey we may
    just let the turkey go!

Easy Answer and in my Opinion The Best Answer for Thanksgiving Tables with all the Trimmings like Candied Yams etc…I disagree with Sweet Wines like German Rieslings …..I am sticking with the same wine I drink Every Thanksgiving ….A Dry Crisp Rose to cleanse the Palate from All The Cranberry Sauce etc at the Table….. Turkey Flat Vineyards Barossa Valley Australian Rose…and Then you can Drink Turkey And Eat Turkey For Thanksgiving.

  24. November 20, 2007

    Lev M.

Love the Blanka thing….xcept he (it?) was from street fighter man, not mortal combat.
QOTD- Klinker Brick Zinfandel and probably some random stuff from the cellar.

  25. November 20, 2007

    Orion Slayer

Another varied assortment of wines, and all for Thanksgiving. Too bad I didn’t know about some of these when the free shipping was available. I’ll add them to my wish list.

It’s so much more fun to watch on a Monday after the Jets win!

QOTD: I’m going to have some wines from Missouri! My sister was there during summer and brought back some wines. Both are white (Chardonnay & ‘white wine’) so I’ll bring a Klinkerbrick Zinfandel.
