QOTD: I have to say that I would love to see some video clips to open up the show…but I don’t think that many of the Vaner-nation will really submit. I certainly would if I had the ability to make videos…As for your enthusiastic start to the program…I say keep the program real to yourself…you are the one, day in, day out that brings us WLTV. If people don’t like it they can go watch (and pay) videos from Wine Spectator…

I have to Agree with “GrapeStuff” I like the Diggnation intro and I think you doing something like that would be rather cool. A nice opening would be a good idea period, I think it would help with cutting back the amount of people who watch you get all excited in the beginning and turn away from the show.

I think the intro comes off phoney or fake. That’s probably why they like the rest of the show once they see it being that it is very real and genuine.

What should you do? Well first you and Lizzy need to get busy and have many more beautiful daughters. Secondly, don’t worry about people who don’t like your style, we who watch do.If you were like Sir Gary I would stop watching…….well maybe not,who else talks about wine for 20 min. 4 or 5 days a week?

GREAT theme for a show. im always impressed with wl’s half-bottle selection and have availed myself of a few of them.

im a big fan of chehalem pinots. good to see that 2000’s are coming around.

re: the sena, i think that project is now solely in chilean hands after the constellation takeover.

qotd: who cares. you have done much more annoying things besides your intro. with all the amazing substance you bring for free, i can tolerate weird glasses, exuberant intros, cutesy phrases like sniffy sniff, the abundance of “linking it up”, and bad hair days. Your honesty, sincerity, and passion outweigh those things every day, and if people dont see that after a few eps who needs em.

I agree with the earlier comments that you probably wouldn’t get enough videos, but a very kick ass idea. or you could just set up some fireworks and get some entrance music and have your grand intro be your grand entrance into the room you’re filming in.

I love the start of the Thunder Show, but a short intro could be nice too. Perhaps a sweet beat by the legendary Ronald Jenkees (check out youtube, http://youtube.com/watch?v=fuzXUv48geU). He did the intro to the Bill Simmons ESPN podcast and it fires me up every time.

QOTD: I like the idea of having rotating Vayniac intros – whether you could get enough would be another question.

Went out to CA for Thanksgiving and went tasting in Santa Ynez and the surrounding towns on Saturday. Longoria is a great find – their Cuvee Diana Chardonnay was great and Fe Ciega Pinot Noir also great. Everyone should check ‘em out.

Another reason to love half bottles: clean ‘em out and use them when you open a full bottle but only want to drink half of it … cork the other half in the 375, stash it in your fridge for a few days, see what happens to it.

QOTD: I really like the intro to Kevin and Alex’s diggNation podcast. Pretty catchy always gets me in the mood to watch their show. Has a pretty high production value for a short 15 sec intro to a podcast.
