    Gar!

Did you get the mp3 of the theme song?

Never had a bandol, will have to give it a try. I have so much to learn. Thanks for helping a newbie understand wines, because with a little bit of you and me, we are changing my wine world.

    ChadD.

QOTD no, and sadly I’ve never heard of it-keep my eyes open the next time I go shopping.

    It’s weighty!

    Boulder, ha!

    QOTD: Never had a Bandol!

I like the double take, going back to the wine you like the most! (Extra exclamation points for dramatic effect.)

I have never had a Bandol. If I see one in the future, I’ll be sure to give it a try.

QoTD: Nope … have to join with the others saying “Never heard of it before.”! Have to keep a look out for it.

I have to agree with E that I like “radicool”.

QOTD: Not yet! :) I’m trying to find a local tasting but it seems nobody here really does them for some odd reason (Zanesville, Ohio). I’ll have to travel to vineyards to find tastings.

I have never tried Bandol, but I’m going to have one now. Thanks. I am learning so much.

Yeah Bandol! The Tempier is the only one I can remember trying, and that was years ago. It’s one of the wines that got me into Mourvedre, the other being a Languedoc blend (60% Syrah, 40% Mourvedre) 2000 Chateau La Roque Pic Saint Loup Cupa Numismae of which I still have one bottle (I’m dying to pop it – but I won’t, yet). Lurkers… come on!

Never had one, but today’s show, like usual, has piqued my interest. I’ll be keeping my eyes open.

The term we used was “radicool”. Not to step on anyone’s portmanteaus or anything.

Anyway, congratulations on breaking the Bandol barrier! I don’t know if I’ve had one since when I tried to dig up the 2001 Galantin there, it was GONE!

But there’s Tempier and Gros Nore available locally, so hope springs eternal.

I tried one and it was very good, but it was priced too high somewhere in the $30 plus range, so I passed on buy it.

Nice episode. Thanks for the love you give to French wine! This is really funny because my French tutor is actually from the Toulon area and he lives like 5 minutes away from Domaine de Terrebrune!!! He told me he takes soem grapes right before harvest time for a snack…and his sister has worked on the harvests before going back to school! How weird is that? She could’ve picked some of grapes that ended up in your glass! Now I’m definitely going to have to try some…or maybe have him bring some wine back from France! Thanks for the episode GV…this was absolutely crazy!

QOTD: Never, but I most certainly will! :)

This is the problem Gary. I would be very upset, and have been after spending
fourty bones for what I thought was a good wine. You do the Vaniacs a great
service and tell us what you feel. Thanks a bunch !!!

QOTD: Nope, but I will now. Another mouth opening experience…

How about some love for those of us who do comment every day? Never had a Bandol, but i’m gonna try and get some of that first one, it’s rare to see you rave that much about anything. I think more shows about the lesser known regions in France (and maybe Italy) would be great.

Never had a Bondol but now I can not wait to give it a sniffy sniffy and a whorl.

Yes, My father in law used to buy heavy from the “lesser known” appalations in the SUD(tavel,bandol,gigondas-before it was hot in the states; and lots of CDP from 98-2000. Wow, that’s how I learned to love the Rhone. It has been over six years since I tasted a Bandol and don’t even remember the ones we tried back then. Hell, I had just fallin for Dry Creek Zin in 97( the 95’s were the best ever). It’s been too long. Good show Gary.

I’ve not yet had a Bandol. They sound interesting though! Lately I’m trying to purchase more local wines (south western Ontario), so if a Bandol comes my way I’ll give it a shot, but Ontario wins out for now.

I just picked up 3 of the Galantin! Thanks Gary, never tried a Bandol before!

Gary, I have seen every show from the very begining and this my freind is the most educationally acurate show in terms region specifics and varietal you have ever done. I just completed the Advance Certification with WSET ( Wine and Spirit Education Trust). You hit every point correct on Bandol.
QOTD: I tasted these wines as a part of my course work. You really brought the Thunder in providng education to the V nation tonight. Hats off buddy, your doing your home work. Great Show!
