QOTD: It’s possible (probable?) I’ve had a Bandol or two at a big cocktail-style festival tasting
over the years, but since I have never sat down with a bottle of it and paid attention, I will say “no”.

    Good episode, Gary.
It honestly sounded like you said:
“We’re going to talk about Bob Dole.”
    I was a little confused.
BANDOL! I’ll have to try one.

Never had Bandol, but I’ll have to seek it out next time I go looking for wine. I like radool though, I’m going to have to start using that myself.

Finally, Bandol recognition! I’ve never left a comment but now I have to. I’ve had several Bandol’s… Tempier 03 or 04, Gros Nore 04, and Ott 01. I hesitate to say this only because it sounds like I’m lying, but the Tempier was too the first wine that truly blew my mind. It’s too bad that the 05 isn’t living up to it’s hefty price tag. Thanks for the show, I’ll be sure to seek out La Galantin.

I’ve never had a Bandol but would love to try one. I’ll be sure to seek it out next time I’m in a wine shop.

Had a Bandol a while ago… it was nice and meaty, chewy. I guess it was “radool.”

I’ve been lurking for 2 weeks and have been watching back episodes for 4 days straight. I’m addicted. I’m in South Carolina and have been a wine lover since about 1988-1990. Who got me into wine? Ernest Hemingway. I was reading a lot of his stuff in college and I felt transported to another place and time and wine was a constant in Pamplona or Paris, and I decided to give it a try. Gary, give me a shout out! I am telling EVERYONE I know about this site and I am sure they will love the show as much as I do. CHEERS!

QOTD: No, I haven’t had a Bandol, but I will certainly give it a go really soon.

    PS: Hello, everyone!

I’ve never had a Bandol. I am a very long time lurker, but love the show, so I just had to post to relieve my guilt! BTW – had the Frank Familiy Zin for T-giving and it was dee-lish! Thanks, Gary!

QOTD: I have heard of it before, but have never had one yet. I’ve only been into wine for about 2 years so my book knowledge of wine is ahead of my drinking experience.

Being new to wine, this is ANOTHER wine I have to add to my list. And I’m kicking myself since I just came back from my wine/spirits warehouse before I watched this show. I would of picked up a bandol instead of the merlot I purchased.

I’ll be sure to make the effort to pick up a bottle next time I go to the shop. . . maybe I should just order one from ya.

Well, great show GV, thanks for your knowledge.

QOTD: Looking forward to trying a Bandol. Also looking forward to finishing watching the show. It’s freezing up on me in the evenings.

Great episode. I like the Bandol. I just checked to see if I had any 01 Tempier left. Sadly, only one more. I enjoy them but they are a little rough sometimes.

    Gary!

I nearly had a Bandol, in it’s mother region. My wife and I were on our honeymoon in Nice (Villefranche), and while we were at lunch at a good restaurant, we passed up the several Bandol wines on the list, opting for a Bordeaux by the glass. What a mistake! I had read that Bandol was known for light red wines….. I didn’t see anything light about them on the show today. I am sad I haven’t had a Bandol, but I take full responsibility – you can’t review every wine, though I still think you should put Heitz on the show.

GV. QOTD; I never have had the pleasure of drinking a bandol, but it sounds like it would be a wine that I would enjoy. I am making venison stew tomorrow, and after listening to your tasting notes, I wish I had one to try, because my venison stew is killer. Thanks for the education, it is on my to buy list.

    Gary,

First time I watched your show. Excellent. I took a wine appreaciation class (ten weeks) many years ago and we covered French, Italian and Californian wine regions. But I don’t remember hearing about Bandol. At any rate the homework was to drink wine from the region that we had studied that week. Best class ever.

So I guess you are my new teacher and I see Domain Le Galantin Bandol is my next homework assignment.

    RADOOL
