Two comments for a (usually) Lurker:

    1) I will never, ever, say “radool” under any circumstances.
    2) Great Bandol show, I look forward to trying my first. I’m a fan of mouvedre as a blending grape in GSMs, so it will be cool to taste it (mostly) on it’s own.

    Gary,

Great show. Thanks for the info on Bandol. Also, appreciated the recommendations from the Thanksgiving show. The Triennes went great with the Turkey and the whole family loved it.

Another great episode. I’ve never had a Bandol before (actually, never heard of it before) and I’ve added it to the ever growing list of wines I’d like to try soon. I must say this show has really expanded not only my interest in different wines but the background knowledge of the regions, the grapes, everything. I’m beginning to notice the few wine tastings I’ve been to are rather narrow in scope after watching the show for a few months now and I’m beginning to want more out of these events! I REALLY enjoy the show – it’s very RADOOL!!!

I’m a Lurker! I have been watching this show since the beginning, this show compelled me to comment. I have just started drinking Bandol, I’ve gotten all my friends hooked. Highly recommend the wine below. Drink now or hold. Awesome QPR, one of the best!

2004 Château de Pibarnon Bandol Les Restanques de Pibarnon

Does anyone else have another recommendation in Bandol?

    NADINE

No I have not but I will surely seek it out now, :>

I have not had a Bandol before, but that is not surprising since 1) I had never heard of it before now (shame on me), and 2) not sure how many local wine proprietors carry it. Well…time to go find out about the latter.

I like your pullover sweater. It looks cozy.

QOTD: I’ve never had a Bandol, but I am definitely going to go look for the La Gallentin. It’s hard being a poor college student with a tight budget…even $17 for me is “not inexpensive.”

    I never had a Bandol… poor me.

QOTD: Yes, I have drunk probably 10 vintages of Tempier Bandol, including all of the special vineyard versions. I love Bandol, but I have never had one to my recollection that was anywhere near its peak in less than 10 years….nor even particularly pleasant in much less than 10 years. They do age spectacularly, however. I am currently drinking the 1990 vintage.
