Interesting episode today Gary. QOTD: I’m working on my application to the journalism school and shoveling snow. I’ll probably be playing some Halo 3 as well. Gamertag – Downwritemad

I haven’t watched a lot of video on my computer, but for crying out loud, Gary completely sucked me in. So engrossing. Just the right amount of humor. I could not look away. When I had to step away from the computer, I “paused” it so I wouldn’t miss a thing. I plan to view more and try the wines. Thanks!

QOTD: My girlfriend’s best friend is in town so we’re showing them around Chicago. Some parties…and then I’ll be watching the Skins put on a great show on an emotional Saturday.

In past vintages, I have found Borsao “Tres Picos” to be a pretty decent inexpensive wine. It usually gets impressive ratings from the usual suspects, but I don’t know the story for the current vintage.

QOTD. Grading papers, watching WLTV, and going to the gym.

QOTD: This weekend I’m busy being isolated in my house by a nasty ice storm. Guess I’ll have to drink some wine and toast the new Husker head coach.

XBOX LIVE TAG: Frubble Frabble . I’m pretty pumped about that!

QOTD: Had tough interviews that last couple of days, treating myself & the girl to some nice food and some wine.

Previously tried 04 and 05 Panarroz and did not care for them anywhere close to 90pts. Your fried electronics comments are enough for me to seek the 06 and try to identify that characteristic.

qotd: Went to art opening last night where bleh Texas wine was served but was free so no complaint. Going to San Antone tonight to watch Mizzou embarrass the Sooners 41-23.

Gary, I watched the episode last night after making a run to the wine shop with my boyfriend. After we opened the wine, we started watching episode #361 and I almost had a heart attack: we had just bought the Panarroz Jumilla (albeit the 2005 vintage)!!!!! Can you say RADOOL or what???

Anyway, we totally agree with you about the burnt-out electric device on the nose (although i compare it more to my hair dryer when I switch it from High Heat to Cool). We both really enjoyed the wine a lot!

QOTD: unfortunately, my weekend will be spent outlining and studying for upcoming law-school final exams. I expect to spend most evenings studying with a bottle of wine :)

QOTD: Drinking Tempernillo from all over the world and a little Cava thrown in too. It’s our monthly wine group. I can’t wait. We are pairing it with lasagna – take that!

Why does anyone care about scores? I really wish you would get rid of your scores. You know they are sooooo WRONG!

I’ll be parking my butt in front of college football games this weekend, doing some Holiday shopping, and playing with the dog…
Thanks for mentioning Al Toooooooonnn (#88, UW grad)
Though I’m a UW grad (that’s Wisconsin), I’ve adopted Oregon St. as my Pac 10 team… so like Vinsant, I’ll be pulling for ‘em today.

Thanks for this ep. Big fan of sauv. blanc, I’m going to dig around your site to find the episode w/ the Chilean Casablanca you mentioned.

QOTD: Watching the Missouri and West Virginia games tonight, hoping one of them chokes so I can see my beloved (and admittedly overrated) Buckeyes in another national championship.

Great episode, Now I have a wine to look for so that my wife will drink a red. She is into fake fruit bombs. I knowshe will drink that.

QOTD: Since every weekend is a 3 day weekend for me, the wife and I are meeting a few friends for some great food, some great conversation, and hopefully some great wine…..I checked the list and nothing jumped out at me, so I have been checking reviews and am going to call and see if I am bring my own to be opened there.

Going to the University of Hawaii Warrior’s 12th and final game of the season
versus Washington. If they win and therefore have a perfect 12-0 season, plan
to celebrate with friends sharing a bottle of Roederer 2000 B de B I scored
at HASR, a favorite wine store in Chinatown here. Colt Brennan is an impressive
quarterback. In fact same plan no matter what! Aloha to all from the
islands’ Vayniaks! P.S.: We have a Muscat-Grenache Gris cross called Symphony from
Volcano Winery, which they use to make dry “Symphony” and the Riesling like “Mele Symphony”. Both about $15, but all juices are a little QPR challenged in the mid Pacific!

QOTD: This weekend I’m at the University of Hawaii (Warriors) football game against Washington, with good friends, and my bottles of Atalon and Elyse Cabernets. Gotta support our Warriors as they go against the last team that stands in the way of their BCS bid for a possible Sugar Bowl ticket against LSU or Tennessee!

QOTD: I’m working at the Charles Dickens Christmas Fair in San Francisco Ca. http://www.dickensfair.com/
I’m dressed up in 1800’s clothes and teaching anyone (yes anyone, even you Gary, even Mott, yes even Mott) how to Ballroom dance in one minute or less,

My question is….is there ever a wine maker who makes a fantastic wine that he can get a good price for but who then decides, nahhh, let’s ask for HALF of what we could get for this. Seems to me, most of the time if it’s cheap, it tastes like it.True?

  24. December 1, 2007

This rocks!, This is exactly my type of show. I was just thinking a couple days ago about how I would never spend $20 bucks for a bottle of wine, and even $15 is kinda pricey for me. (I’m just frugal and my social gatherings where we drink are pretty casual, and Thanksgiving, Xmas and Easter only come once a year )

Good show, Gary. I’ll be working and waiting for you to join my band’s group on Facebook (we’re called The Good Fiction and you’ve already been invited to join….just click the link…)
