QOTD: About 5 years ago I organized a bachelor party in New Orleans for a friend of mine, and booked our group for dinner at K Paul’s Louisiana Kitchen. It was totally over the top, way too decadent and way too expensive, but we didn’t care. Was just a great group of people sharing really flavorful, fun food. We had so much fun and stayed out so late that I wound up going straight from the French Quarter to the airport to catch my flight home. Funny thing was, I wasn’t the only person on the flight who’d done exactly the same thing!

If you pull my name from the drawing, though, please pull another name and give the wine to that person! Super Tuscans are totally wasted on me.

QOTD – Stone Road Grille in Niagara on the Lake here in Ontario, Canada (one of the best wine regions in the world, do a show!!). We had a great very casual meal Sunday night starting with oysters, and a Cave Springs cuvee. Next was a plate of house charcuterie with an awesome Stratus Wines 2005 White. We progressed to their chef’s version of poutine (fries, cheesy bechemel and fois gras) and then Lailey 2005 Impromptu PMS. We decided to end with a big chunk of Kobe beef and an 02 Nebbiolo from Ridgepoint. Unbelievable food, outstanding wine, amazing atmosphere, great service and beautiful conversation with a great friend of mine. Does life really get any better?

Love the ending! Really appreciate the review of the kosher wine; I live in S. Florida and that will make a great gift for some of my friends.
QOTD- Best meal I ever had…top of Stratosphere in Las Vegas (the fact that I asked my wife to marry me may bias the memory a little though). But still…the food was great, the service spectacular, and the view is fantastic.

Best meal I ever had was New Year’s Eve dinner in Stockholm 2004. Our friends gave us money and left the rest up to me. You can make a pretty good dinner at home for $600!

Chef’s Kobe Steak Selection at Chef Tom Colicchio’s restaurant Craftsteak. Some of the best steak I have ever had, great mushroom risotto, mix veggies, and this is the only place that could make 6 different ice creams work as dessert (but they did it)! When you go to Vegas Crafsteak is located in the MGM Grand. Give it a shot, but make sure you bring your checkbook, we dropped $750 for 4!

Big turn out on comments. I’m in. QOTD: Good o’l Italian dinner made by my late and great Nana. Home made sauce (or gravy as some call it), home made ravioli’s, need I go on? Food was made with love. No $500 wine, just basic jug red back then. All was good.

    Another great show Gman. Thanks.

My best meal remembered was 41 years ago. Fryed Chicken at little unknown restaurant in Canada, on our honeymoon going to Sudbury. It was crispy, tender and delicious it had a honey pineapple sauce.

It was off the highway in a small village. Sorry I can not remember the town either.

QOTD; I was racking my brain trying to come up with the meal that shut down all others and I found it…. My wife and I were at a Thai restaurant in Amsterdam (yes, we were. Very.). We ordered a couple of apps, a couple entrees, and by the time we were ordering our third dessert the server was laughing as much as we were.
WOTN (last night) Had a new Riesling from Washington State. Nodland Cellars Bebop 2005. Find it. Drink it.

QOTD: The greatest meal I’ve ever had was in Australia. 300 day grain feed cattle, ridiculously good Aussie beer (and Wine of course) at a little street cafe-restaurant on the Queen Street Mall in Brisbane. At the time the Aussie dollar was worth about 48 cents, which made the picking up the check at the end of the day even better.

QOTD: The greatest meal I ever had was the chef’s tasting menu and wine pairing at Aqua in San Francisco – I can still taste the foie gras and the crab soufle. Yumm.

A Turkey on rye sandwich and broccoli cheese soup from the Morristown Memorial Hospital the night my son was born. I was starving after my wife’s 10 hours of labor, when we went to the hospital I brought with me a Pride Merlot, went real well with the cafeteria food. I was so happy with the birth of my son!!!! A meal I will never forget!!!!! I kept the bottle!!!!
