Articulate and fun kinda guy. Good show.

QOTD: Prosciutto, ricotta cheese and basil would be a nice filling. At least that’s how I stuff my fried zucchini blossoms.

Go Steelers! Beat the ref and the Cheats!

    TGIF

    Cheers!

P.S. How does one post comments during the show? They are hilarious!

Plastic cuttlery? Do you suppose that on MeatpieLibrary.com, they’re drinking wine in plastic tumblers?

QOTD: You know, a lot of things taste good baked into a pie. I’m just as big a fan of all the “fruit” pies that are our there as I am of the mincement and various meat “pot pies” that also exist. It might be easier for me to think of something that I -wouldn’t- want to see baked into a pie (which would probably sound gross, anyhow…). Agreed, great question.

G-V-N-C: Gary, a couple of comments. First of all, I have to agree with previous comments, the shows with visitors are very good. I like the conversation as well as the different take on whatever wine is being sampled. I definitely wouldn’t want a visitor during a “varietal” show since I really think it would break up the focus on the wine. However, for those types who think you’re “obnoxious” or whatever the “Gary-haters” are calling you these days, I think it breaks it up a bit and might make you a bit more palatable for those types. I like you fine the way you are. Second comment is about scoring. As you well know, drinking wine is a very complex sensory experience. One of the things that I like about your show is how much effort you put into trying to describe exactly what your smelling or tasting at the moment. However, no matter how hard you try, we can’t read your mind to know exactly what your experiencing. By scoring a wine (and more importantly, being in touch with how a particular reviewer tends to score a type of wine…), it helps us to better understand the degree to which you’re enjoying some of the more subtle aspects of the wine. If you (and everyone else…) didn’t score using a reasonably standardized system, that extra information from the review simply wouldn’t be available.
