I'm open to wines in a box, although I feel dubious about them and have never bought one and don't have any plans to. I'm definitely not into wines in a can however, I know Coppola's even doing one of those. I tasted a cuvee de pena rose in a bottle, it wasn't awful for the $2 or 3.99 it cost wholesale.

Gary, you should do a new box wine episode. I’ve read that there are a few other brands that might be pretty good. Would love to see you review Dtour Côtes-du-Rhône, Dtour 2004 Mâcon-Villages, and a Black Box wine. I’ve tried the Black Box, and I think it’s pretty serviceable for parties.

Boxed wine are major in Sweden too. But there is a best before date rule on all of them, 3-6 months is usually the timespan. You cannot store wine in the box for longer, the die and smell and taste of the plastic packaging and of the sulphur they use to make it possible to even put in the box.
