Excellent Show, nice job DK. I feel your pain, we can’t get wines from many places here in Wisconsin…

QOTD: No cases yet, plenty of half cases, but usually split cases with friends from a local wine dinner we attend.

Awesome week of WLTV. Sounds like you just described the wine laws here in Kansas. But there are ways…. that’s all I can say;)
QOTD… never bought a case of wine…sad, huh?

You can always tell the blowhards…….they spit the wine out and sniff it with their head cocked to one side…….everybody is an expert now. Cherry, blackberry, strawberry, jammy, chewy……..these guys what fruit juice not wine.

Weeeee great show! I mostly buy half cases. I dont know why but I seem to be able to get 6 bottles past the wife easier than 12 ….dunno. Bought 6 most recently of the Noblaie Le chiens-chiens

Great episode. I agree politically, I cannot get Wine Library wine shipped to me in Wisconsin.
QOTD: I have never bought a full case of only 1 wine. I do not see myself ever doing that either.

QOTD: Never bought a case — not that I’ve never WANTED to, just never had the $$$. Buying 3 bottles of Vayniac Cab’s the closest I’ve come. :)

…and may I take a moment to say that I will stop at nothing to be guest co-host on the Thunder Show, a.k.a. Winelibrary TV, the 16th most popular show about wine on the internetssssss! I just happen to be heading east this February….

    Great Show
QOTD: I buy cases more regularly than I ought to. Sometimes, especially for the inexpensive everyday stuff. I just want to know what I am going to have, and not worry about it.

QOTD: I have never bought a case of wine because it’s so expensive and at the moment I am trying to learn more about various types of wine. I’m hoping to eventually be in the position economically to eventually buy cases of wine because this can definately become an expensive hobby!

vayniacs on the show is a great idea however this past week has been so testosterone laden i am wondering if you realize that us gals are the real buying heavy weights in the wine market. bring on the estrogen to the thunder show – i will be your first volunteer!!

Same problem here in PA DK… We really need to make this a federal thing not a state controlled thing…

    Ed Cesarone

QOTD: 1 cs of 2004 Domaine des Escarvailles Cotes du Rhone Villages Rasteau la Ponce $16.87 bt. grenache blend, insects included.

Wow!!!!! This was absolutely one of the best shows you have ever done! DK was a superb guest, and set a very high tone of expectation for your future “guests” shows. I am really looking forward to them.

QOTD: For about 14 years from the early 80’s to the mid 90’s, I bought quite of number of case lots…mostly in Bordeaux for the 1982-1990 vintages and vintage port in the 1977 vintage, and in Chardonnay for the entire period. Then a combination of my age and a growing interest in a rapidly widening array of wines (Rhones, everything Italian, Spanish, and Burgundies)forced me to cope with the increasing types of wines I was buying by purchasing less of each. Another big factor was the vast increase in the number of great producers in the 90’s. For instance, before the 90’s, there were just a handfull of good pinots from the new world, Tuscan wines, Rhone wines and Spanish wines….now there are inumerable great producers.

first QOTD: no drawing because the wrong list of names was printed (from another day – not the day announced).

    B-727

First case: BV Private Reserve 1970 in 1975. It was profound, and I got a case at $8/bottle while I was a broke student. Buying it was such sweet pain.
Most recent: 2004 Dare (2nd label of Napa’s Viader — just as good at 1/3-1/2 the price.

Awesome show! One of the best. Never bought a case. Being CKC, I can’t really afford or store. Glad to live in California.

And I was pressed for time when I first commented, but can I just add that your sleeping pills in the ice cream story was hilarious!!!! I was laughing so hard…and I could totally see high school friends doing that to you GV!

Great job on the show Gv and DK!
I have never purchased a case of wine since I like to try different types.
    Keep bringing the thunder!

If I buy a case or more of a wine, it is either because I want to try it over time and or give it as gifts in 10 years plus. That way I pay a fairly small amount for what is later and “older vintage” of a good wine. I also will buy a case + when I find an inexpensive wine that I know everyone will love and I know I will want to have several on hand at any given time for friends or family. For instance 1998 Cáceres Reserva Rioja and 2004 Las Rocas Viñas Viejas.

    Great Show!

QOTD: Maybe when we have a house we will buy a case to cellar. For now, my “cellar” is the bottom of my 54-bottle wine rack where I plan on keeping bottles for 2-3 years. It is hard for me to say what I would get a case of if I could, an ‘05 bourdoux of some sort. I like mixing it up.

Very well done. Excellent show with tons of energy.

    YOOOO GeeVee & DK !!!
Ya Guys are TOOO MUCH !!…… :) Boy, sure glad i don’t live in
Maryland! What a Bummer with those “liquor laws”……

QOTD: 12 bottles of one thing(one purchase)??? The only time i
did dat was looooooong time ago. I bought 12 bottles of V. Sattui
Gewurztraminer. Eversince, it’s always been mixed cases…..
