QOTD: Poggiarellino Brunello di Montalcino … I would have thought to try a Brunello until I heard Gary rave about them.

Ecola, you are cool in my book… 2005 Pillar Box Red for me as well! Bought out my wine shop & gave a bunch of bottles at parties. And, you know, drank a couple myself…

Great episode. Love Ribera del Duero’s and keep the Canadian shout outs coming! Sure we can get the Emilio up here in Canada…I have one in the cellar, the only problem is that it costed $33..ouch.

QOTD: My most memorable WLTV purchase was my first which was the good ol 05 Wolftrap

Nice episode — QOTD – none yet — some nice wines, some not so — still waiting for that big ‘diamond in the rough’.

QOTD: I spotted a Reinhold Haart Spatlese riesling 2005 in a store and remembered GV’s reaction… so I picked that up. I’m saving it… I know I’ll LOVE IT! Really, it’s because of GV (Vaynerchuk, not Vanderchuk, NPR guy) that I’m into trying all the varietals. The other day I had a Malbec, which believe me I had never heard of before watching many GV episodes.
    We love you too, Gary!

2005 Pillar Box Red. I’ve just gotten into the show over the past two weeks and can’t get enough. Gary, have you checked out “Big Ass Cab” from Australia?

Great show! I want a tee that has a picture of you with basil-bomb dodgeballs rocking your mouth-hole.

QOTD: Bandit Pinot Grigio in the box (tetra pak). I would never have let my boyfriend talk me into buying a boxed wine for something other than a party if I hadn’t seen you enjoying it on the Thunder Show. AND it’s a pretty great wine!

Kudos to having the Secret Santa on Christmas Eve!

QOTD: 2004 El Nido Clio, Corte Riva Merlot, Chocalan Gran Reserva in that order.

    Cheers!

New classic wine aroma/taste quotes: “parrot poop” & “playing dodgeball with basil bombs” (new tee-shirts?)

QOTD: I tried some Poilly Fuisse (Joseph Drouhin Pouilly-Fuisse ‘04 & Pierre Dupond Pouilly-Fuisse ‘02) both were a pleasant change from the kinds of Chardonnay I have had. But the best tip I got from Gary was to drink white wines at room temperature!

QOTD – A bit crazey as it is such a young wine but for me it was the 2004 Pichon Baron…..I was looking for a wine from my son’s birth year and Gary raved about this so I bought one to try and really loved it…..bought 6 more for Josh.

QOTD: Gary thanks for the heads up on the frank family zin. Brought it to thanksgiving in texas and I loved it. Maybe had something to do with being with family over the holidays, but nevertheless, without you I would have to rely on labels or price to find something new. I much prefer the thunder show.
