I have not ever had an enjoyable bottle from Newton. Too bad about Foley, I just drank 3 bottles of the ‘02 Pride Cab over the last month and the wine will not last that long. It is probably the vintage more than anything, but they faded overnight in the bottle when I tested them to see what would happen.

Last nites show was great, excellent guest.

You should get Bill Blatch on to do a Latour vertical. He used to live at the estate and is a great story teller. It would be an instant classic.

How about a shirt with the GV cartoon head from the 12 days promotion webpages. Then you could put a little comic type bubble that says “Link it up Mott”. It would save you time on design. The shirt would have to be the same cream color as this page.

Isn’t everything better with a Gary head on it?

By the way, there were way too many meh Merlots coming out of California due to popularity in the 90s that hurt it as much as Sideways.

QOTD: Dinner with the family. Merlot didn’t work out too well today. Truthfully I have never been a big fan of Newton. Has anyone ever tried a Cuvaison ATS Merlot? My wife and I enjoyed a 2002 the other night and it really rocked – wish I had a whole case of the stuff.

Glad you did an episode on merlot. Sorry you weren’t more impressed with the ones you tasted tonight. We keep trying them. We have a couple of merlots we like…well one in particular.
