QOTD: welp, I could see the thunder show getting picked up by FoodTV or something similar, but I think that might not be such a good thing. The interactive-ness of the show as it is now is what makes it so freakin cool IMHO. How the heck are ya gonna say “Mott, link it up!!” on FoodTV? I see the show taking off – on stage6, on joost, more internet exposure. I also imagine GV having a tough time not becoming just another guy people look to for ratings. Keep up the great job boys. And bring on the Mott, link it up shirt!

I was drinking club soda and listening to your description of the Clio wine, it made me laugh so hard and suddenly that the bubbles went up my nose. (I gave the club soda a 94) Great show. 2008 will catapult you into some serious super stardom w/gigantor celebrity guest hosts, your own line of sunglasses, a guest appearance on SNL and posers popping up everywhere trying to steal your thunder. :)

    Mike S,

Thought it was a great show today. I would love to see 2008 be what you have been doing with the show over the past couple of months. Really enjoy the off site episodes (cellar, wine bars, etc.) and the guests. I have to say that I miss the laid back Friday and answering our questions. To be honest, it would make me sad if you decide to go to TV. Not sure why, but I do think that the internet is the perfect medium for the show.

In the year two thousand and eight I predict that the thunder show will have Robert Parker as a guest wherein Mr. Parker will confess that he secretly admires and is obsessed with the thunder show and GV, and also publicly concedes that he has been deposed as the king of all wine by GV.

Great show. Focused yet you still had time for your entertaining sidewinding metaphors.

    QOTD:
Mott will leave the show when he gets recruited as cinematographer for Spielberg’s next film.
“Mott, Link it up” t-shirts will then skyrocket in value as if they were 2005 premier grand crus.
You will make a terrible effort to record you own theme song. We’ll all make fun of you for it.
    Seriously:
GV becomes a daddy and the thundershow has some episodes recorded in your basement, then moves to a two or three day a week show.
The show will have more guests and more off-site recordings.
    I’ll keep watching and commenting.

I don’t know what you’re going to be doing in 2008, but if you lose your credibility, you’re going to be shit.

QOTD: “Mott link it up” becomes more popular than “Don’t tase me Bro”

Love the 1980’s NWA wrestling metatphors, keep em coming Garry.

QOTD” Prediction for 2008 is that Gary will be picked up by the Food Network, become immensely popular and then get his own day time talk show. In otherwords, he’ll be the new Rachel Ray. By January 2009 he’ll be doing those annoying Dunkin Donuts commercials.

QOTD you will break the camera lense with a cork.
You or Mott will let a loud fart loose on an episode.

Hey G., what happened to the drawing for the big fat 6L Silver Oak?

QOTD: I am totally unsure of whats going to happen, but ill tell you what I want to happen. FOOD NETWORK BABY, right before Emeril! You got the energy Gary and you’re show would destroy some of the junk they have on the Food Network!

    Achilles Mike

QOTD I think you.ll add greater depth for the show by having more guests, and creating as always the super energy you convey for wines- and maybe even the Jets will win!!

    QOTD:
I bet that you rate a Texas wine in the 90’s!
Have you had any great wines from Texas yet?

Great show as usual. I think the show will be essentially similar in 08 with mild modifications..It’d be good to keep it under 20 min and choose as much as possible the widely available wines..Having guests on a regular basis would be great. I think it’d be very interesting -for the viewers and for yourself – to have a blind tasting show once per week. Keep it up G.
    Cheers and happy holidays

    KVolk

QOTD: I predict that the “Mott, Link it up” T-shirt will out sell all other merchandise except the vino.

This show was the essence of the Thudershow…..”Mott, Link it up!!”

  16. December 21, 2007

    Monstrose

QOTD: The Vayniacs become the soccer moms of the 2008 election, forcing candidates to trust their own palates rather than focus groups and thus changing American politics forever.

Mott –> Link it up! Tee. I vote YES. Another Radool show Gary.

I hope the show concentrates on great values from established regions, like yesterday’s Bordeaux show. I think that is where we learn that under-marketed wines with great tradition can be tremendous values.

QOD: predictions about things that will NOT happen in 2008 for WLTV and the WL

1: there will Not be a wish list incorporated into the website

2: the store will Not enlarge it’s parking lot forcing people to continue to park at the Taco Bell next door

3: you will Not be making a WLTV trip to Tampa in 2008!!

lol!!!! hopefully i’m wrong on these tho hahahah!

    have a good holiday GV

Good friday show. I wish I had the scracth to get one of those Quintessas.

QOTD: I make it a point not to predict anything. I’m usually wrong.

  23. December 21, 2007

    chitown_wino

QOTD- 2008 will see over 1000 comments on days you give nothing away!

  24. December 21, 2007

    Jordan

QOTD: dude don’t go on TV cuz part of why WLTV is cool is that it’s online and slightly anti-establishment – 2008 brings more thunder and wines from off the beaten track from places like hungary, romania, michigan, virginia, brazil, and uruguay

  25. December 21, 2007

    DannInNH

QOTD: Shows will be M-W-F with more guests. Format is good, but the recent show with Jeff Davies was what is needed, he represents the wineries and that is needed, IMHO.
