Rowdy show gary! thanks for brining in the Jumilla (ITS ABOUT TIME)!!! Interesting fruit bomb i bet, most of the Jumillas i have been drinking lately are a polar opposite of your description of the the Clio. Most of em have that earth, and acidic backbone that make me keep coming back. great episode!! p.s. MORE JUMILLA ON THE SHOW!!!!

Nice show very to the point but more or less on the expensive side. I bet by this time next year you will embrace the oak monster.

I think that your own idea of more guests wil be important. You need strong guests who will interest your viewers and interest you. You have to avoid getting bored with yur own format. Strong guests should help. Going off-site is a lot of work, and it dosn’t change the wine. However, going off-site may help if it makes more guests available to you. Another advantage of off-site is the possibility that it could help marketing.
Just go with your gut, and good luck!

Would the shirt be, “Mott, link it up!”, or would it be, “Like it up, Mott!”? Cuz I’m not too big on option A, but I like option B.

I would love to find the Mahi over here in Germany!

2008: Try new things! Please go and seek out more “new” stuff for us… My recent experiences for instance with Brazil wines were really mind opening! I think in 2008 you will get the honor for changing the wine world since EP#1! What ever that means ;)

About Quintessa, taken from the web: Quintessa is a selection from 170 acres of vineyards, mostly planted to cabernet sauvignon, along with merlot and small blocks of cabernet franc, petit verdot and carmenre.

In 2008 the earth will quake at the awakening of a new age of wine enthusiasts. This onset will be induced by none other than Gary Vaynerchuk. People not afraid to reconceptualize their world will be released from their cocoons of inexperience and doubt and will be jet propelled into a future where the enjoyment of wine is not limited by knowledge or taught by any man, but is instead complimented by the love of wine and the mystique of culture and the urge to get out and try something new!.

Man you’ve got me excited about that Mahi. Too Bad about the reds. As far as Spain and Portugal go, I know lots of wines at half that price that would kick far more ass. Happy Holidays to everyone!

QOTD: In 2008, we will see the Thunder Show going to a more “On Location” format. It’ll be fun at first. There will be upstart boutique wineries, slick businessmen, and wine-associated companies hurting for publicity all trying to jump on the GV train (… like that? almost sounds like the ‘gravy train’) and get GV to do a show at their place. Then, things will start to sour. The “Oak Monster” will become a friendly, plush toy. Sweaty socks and asparagus-smelling wines will become a BAD thing. Gary will start to cheer for the Patriots… It’s all part of Gary’s slow, inevitable march toward the temptation to sell out to Marvin Shanken. Will he resist? Stay tuned. We’ll know in 2008.

GV, great descriptions on the wine today,I could almost smell and taste each one of them. I’m glad you still don’t shy away from being brutally honest even when it’s very obvious you really want to give kudo’s to a wine that you’ve really liked in previous vintages.

QOTD: I predict more celebrity endorsements on the T-show and regular off-site tastings at various hot spots. Keep the Thunder rolling ~ CW

In 2008 the demand for Gary to get on another late night talk show will be so great that they will end the writers strike just to bring more thunder to main stream media.

Finishing up the ‘02 Ch de Piras with some Mahon Curado; each of them is better off by itself.

    What will 2K8 bring?

    More couch.
    More dirt and rocks.
    More Tannat.
More weird-ass Italian grapes I’ve never heard of.
More varieties from Washington and Oregon that you wouldn’t think they’d be growing in Washington and Oregon.
    More guests.
    More Mott.
