QOTD: I hope for more road shows. But Gary you need to do whats right for you! Hip and Heart, right????

I have forwarded this episode to two dozen of my friends. You validated my opinion of the Clio. I thought it was fakey and no heart. Not even a tin mans heart. Good wine, but hollow, it simply had no soul. I of course got verbally drawn, quartered and TRASHED at the tasting by my colleagues as a result. Thanks for the honesty. Keep it Real!!!

QOTD: I’m getting a vision…there will be two vacation/tours available where Vaniacs from across the globe can gather with their savant guide GV for a few days to enjoy 1) an unspecified region of CA, and, 2) the crush in NZ…or France…or Italy…or Spain…wherever. Hell, Amsterdam has some interesting bars!

QOTD: Gary hosts his own show on the Food Network and decides to have a mystery 4 pack of wine every month so viewers can tune in and taste with him AND we get a ‘Mott Link It Up’ T-Shirt! Happy Holidays!

Good show, Gary! Very let’s-focus-on-the-wine. Too bad about the Quinta do Crasto Reserva. I bought a bottle of the 2004, but I haven’t tried it yet. I hope it’s better than the 2005. I have to say that I tried a bottle of the non-reserva 2005, and I didn’t think much of it. In the past I have thought that their non-reservas have offered good value, but not so much lately.

QOTD. I don’t know what to predict. I think HeadWino had some good suggestions.

Too bad that Douro was disappointing, Portugal wines are usually great.

QOTD: Gary stays true to his fans and, dispite his better business judgement, gives free shipping on all items!

Love Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc! We kind of miss the goosenberry; you may coin that word. Great review on the Whitney’s; looks so seducing and inviting. You had too high spectations on the Quinta do Crasto. The color and tint on the El Nido Clio!! What is the score on the Quintessa? Did I miss it? Great show, five solid wines, very successful episode. QOTD: Double the amount of viewers, half the amount of lurkers, Capt M as guest on an episode, more and exciting contests, Lizzy will be expecting. Merry Christmas Gary and Family!

    Yo, Gar’

This is from one of your lurkers… Don’t give this thing up in ‘08 (’09, ‘10…). I drop in every now and then and the show (and your work) just keeps getting better. I’d hate to see you sell out like Rachel Ray, Emeril…

I REALLY don’t want to have you staring over my shoulder from a display at the local wine shop.

WLTV is real, honest, true… The heavy hitters can learn from you without you having to sell out in ‘08 or any other year. Keep this very good thing going. Like some whites and many reds, it can only improve with age.

QOTD: What’s up in 08′? (or should consider)
    1) Build a new food pairing channel on WLTV. Different host (must have GV flair but have credentials with food. GV guest stars once in a while.
    2) When GV travels do more road shows with local people/wineries. Aids in the marketing of WL.
    3) Is a Food Network special on tasting somewhere in the near future?
    4) More focus on “value” driven wines. Would bet the majority of viewers would like to be able to buy 10$-20$ wines. We can experience more variety with the modest priced wines.
    5) Continue your efforts in demystifying French wines. More education.
    6) More segments with 4-pak mystery wines. (Christmas pak like.)

Great shows, has really helped me identity different wines to try that I wouldn’t have ever known before.

Rockin show Gary, some really great wine !!!!

QOTD: I hope nothing changes with the thundershow in 2008, I love it the way it is.

    Wanger

    QOTD:

You’re going to do an episode focusing on bottle-to-bottle variation. You’ve panned wines that others liked (you know, the Duoro).

I’ve bought cases where most bottles were really good, one was crap, and one was awesome. Where does that come from? I know you’ll say mind-set, but there’s more to it than that.

It would be interesting to do three bottles of the same wine. (Or maybe, just talk about your experience with this phenomenon)

2008 forcast? I will co-host the wltv show and bring the THUNDER!!!!!

From a french point of view…
QOTD: Hope with 2008 this kind of program will keep on… wltv viewers will always keep an open mind considering their wine purchases, hope gary and his team will not follow the wine trend and will keep on helping me to define better the customers’ attitude and feeling about wine.
2K8 is supposed to be balanced gary just look at this perfect figure 8
Thank you for educating and entertaining us gary !
    a french viewer joyeuses fêtes…

Great show loved how $100 smells like garbage.

For 2008 I see more guest appearances and more guest spots for yourself on broadcast TV. The forming or partnering of an IP TV conglomerate to bring down broadcast television would be nice to have.

    Big Nick

Gary….spent many months just lurking while I caught up on all (and I mean all) of the past episodes here on the site. I got to see your evolution in a much shorter time frame than the vayniaks that have been here from day one. I guess the best part of the show is that we get to hear and learn about wines, from a guy that is so grounded in his youth that he is comfortable making Ric Flair comparisons. I am not sure TV is your calling, politics plays too big of a role and th often determine who you should be. Don’t change just for TV, your real niche is here doing small focused video bloggin where you control the content and the direction. Keep it up, and best of luck in ‘08.

    Nice show…even at 6am.

QOTD: I am not sure what to expect for 2008. After watching Episode #374 and then going back and watching Episode #18 I did see something that I liked in both episodes that you use to do in most of those earlier episodes that you have almost stopped doing in the past 100 or so episodes. Want to know what it is??? More detail about the wine, the grape, the region, the people behind the vineyard that particular wine comes from. Tell us a story like Mr Davies did on almost every wine you two tasted. You use to do that a lot but don’t seem to do it much anymore. I would rather watch you taste two wines and then tell us a story behind them than to watch you go through three, four or five wines and no story. I am fairly new to wine and if you want to keep us new Vayniacs or “want to be’s” attention for any amount of time I think 2008 needs to be a lot of the same thing you already do along with an “old twist” of telling us more about the wine. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching what you do but I really think Episode #374 showed me what I would really like to see for 2008. Bottom line: JUST KEEP ON DOING IT but maybe a little more info.
