I like the new emphasis on food-wine combinations, especially the unexpected ones. Good job!

My wife and I had some of the Radikon whites at a tasting. Very interesting stuff. One of them made me think of decaying dead leaves and the beginning of winter — but in a good way. I’m not sure what food I’d put it with, but I thought it was very intriguing wine.

QOTD. Don’t know. It depends on the food.

QOTD: I am not sure what I’m drinking on New Year’s Eve… I don’t have any plans as of yet. But, I will say that bubbly isn’t my style so I probably won’t drop major change on a bottle of it — more likely a big Cab. !

    Hey Gary,
Is that an “Everything Is Illuminated” bottle in the background on top of that wine rack to the left? Please explain.

Hey man, I always try to leave comments-screw the contests!! I finally bought a decanter and decanted some Pinot (the one from the Thanksgiving pack, which was awesome by the way) on Christmas-I’ve now been converted.
QOTD: We are going to some restaurant/club with friends so they probably will only have crappy sparkling wine!

QOTD: ROAD TRIP….the wifeee wife and I are taking the two dachshunds and heading down the road for New Years and this time without a place to go. No plans, no schedules, no clocks, no care and no idea what we will be drinking come New Years. But, we will be drinking something from a vineyard somewhere in the lower four middle states. Not a big choice I know. Have a great happy New Year……

Yummy episode! QOTD: Champagne! of course! Rosé Champagne, I just don’t know which one yet. Will go to the wine store today and buy. I do know that is not going to be Moët & Chandon this time. Going for something different and new to us.

Gary, the big-ass-glass is perfectly proportioned for the 6-liter bottle. In fact, they both make you seem tiny by comparison. How about an episode on dispensing wine from a 6-liter bottle?

QOTD: I’m inviting cabernet friends to my house for New Year’s Eve. I’ll ice a 375ml of champaign for those who insist.

Wow, didn’t expect an episode the day after Christmas! You really do love us, GV, and I am eternally grateful.

QoTD: Not sure exactly, since I’ll be spending it with my boyfriend’s family and they’ll most likely supply the sparkler…but if it’s Korbel again, I may sneak out and buy some cava or prosecco!
