QOTD: Work on learing more about wine…I am going to make a strong effort to watch every episode of WLTV.

New Year’s resolution – total beginner currently, by Dec 2008, i hope to have learned enough to be able to host my own wine tasting. Thanks for the thunder, Gary! Happy New Year!

I resolve to bite the bullet, spend a bit more (because my bottleshops do not stock cheap imports) and try more French and German wines. Too long have I focused on finding good value Aussie wines. Happy new year Garry.

QOTD: My New Year’s resolution will be to stop lurking…already accomplished!
Thanks GV for the months and months of wine education. Because of you, I’ve tried more white wines in the past year than ever before. Still prefer reds, but I’ve discovered that whites are sometimes good and often appropriate.

No barbed wire but do Thorns count?
QOTD: I resolve to actually take back crappy wine to a local retailer that says they will take it back for any reason.

I also am a ” Mott link it up” T advocate but have not said so because I am bitter that i wasn’t the first to request it Loooong ago.
Unfortunately just made wine a verb ….sorry

QOTD: Continue to be a Mott Link it Up, advocate. Com’on G-Man, when is the shirt going to be announced. Give it Up!

On wine, new years resolution, only drink what appeals to the pallette, and dump down the drain those that dont. Life is too short, to drink crap.

Great episode. You turned me onto washington wines with the Boudreaux episode (Mott Link IT UP) and its on my short list. No tatooo. Wine Resolution: experiment more, try more outside the box.

Add to my (tiny but expanding reserve) without opening and to expand my knowledge of Italian wine! Happy New Year!

QOTD: My resolution is to put away some keepers (not that I can afford any) and NOT open them this year.

Too bad about the Nicolas Cole Cellars. I had a WA Meritage, the Ash Hollow Nine Mile with about the same percents and it was great. A really killer food wine, IMO.

GV – Insect blood?!? Nice! Another killer episode.

QOTD – That would have to be to try at least two new varietals per month. (I could aim higher, but, really, when would I have the time to drink the stuff I love?) My De Long’s Wine Grape Varietal Table tells me there is a boatload more than 24, so my this New Year’s wine resolution should be eminently doable.

Insect blood…it’s that smell when you smash a bug on the bottom of your shoe and you sniff it….great stuff!

dude, seriously…Insect blood? First off, what does that taste like, and how do you know? I didn’t see that on the palate building episode.
WA makes some real nice Pinot Noirs; good body, not too thin like some PN’s get.

qotd: my resolution would have to be to find a way to get more american wines up here in canada… seriously, we’re hurting.. big time

QOTD: Well, I’m taking my court somm. test in cali in march. so, I guess my resolution is to be able to pick out different ACs blindly.

QOTD: I would have to say that I want to be drinking more wines NOT from the US…yeah, OK, so I have to try more Washington wines, but I have not tried enough wine from across the pond.

QOTD: Similar to Dave from VA, except mine is to actually buy a decanter and use it, which I have never done before.

2nd QOTD: I have no tattoos at all. I’m from Squaresville, man.

  25. December 29, 2007
