One of the great discoveries of 2007 for me and many Vayniacs was the Torrentes grape from Argentina.

Hey Mr. Ambassador, I do go through Mukilteo occasionally (usually on my way to the ferry). I’ll have to look you up sometime. :)

I’m here in Redmond, Wa (next to Seattle), where we have an ever-changing group of Vayniacs who meet up about once a month. Newcomers always welcome!

Gosh, you’d think that in a city of 975,000 folks there would be at least one other Vaniac. I’m starting to feel lonely here in the capitol of Silcon Valley (and so close to Napa Valley).

Sorry to hear about your friend. Because of our “advanced” ages we’ve lost a slew of people lately from parents to cousins to friends…Not fun but a wonderful reminder to value what you have.

Nice guzzle at the end, Gary. I’m going to have to explore the Torrentes grape, it sounds intriguing.

I want to go out and buy a Torrontes right now and sample it! These wines sound like a must-try based on the tasting notes (and the price point doesn’t hurt either)!

I live on Whidbey Island in Langley, WA.

If you’re in this area stop in at Ivar’s Mukilteo Landing restaurant and ask for “Mr. Ambassador” (or Erik) and the entire staff should point you my way!

    GV,
Sorry to hear about your loss. Special people in our lives make them worth living.

Nice openning salvo to 2008. Still have not tried a Torrontes, will have to make a delayed New Years Resolution to do so.

QOTD: High Point, NC. Would love to get a tasting group started down here.
