    Hi Gary,
    Around the week before
Thanksgiving. Then I down loaded back to the beginning of November and had a marathon week of The Thunder Show. I still go back here and there to watch some older episodes. I had to watch #1 just to see how much it has changed. I can’t tell the difference Ha-Ha. Actually, you have become so more much comfortable in front of the camera and a lot funnier. I have then, sort of, skipped throughout the year and watched maybe every twentieth episode to witness your evolution.
On another note, I am, was, a HUGE Pinot Noir fan from way back and I was upset with the movie SIDEWAYS. I turned to my wife after Paul Giamatti’s little monologue about the “Specialness” of pinot noir and said “There goes my chances of finding anything good at a reasonable price anymore”. I have since started drinking more Syrahs and gone back to some lower priced Bordeaux wines. See you March 29th.

Another great episode, Gary. Maybe I should try more Pinots, eh? QOD: I remember we had a chuckle over this in L.A. I started watching with the episode right before the episode where you had many, many opened wines and you were going to taste wines ‘that had been previously opened’…then a friend of yours came up to you, whispered in your ear that you were late for a friend’s wedding and you had to go! Apparently, that episode made a few others upset, you had said. This must have been late July, early August 2006. I was hooked from then on!

QOTD: I started watching WLTV Last July (about six months ago). I still remember my immediate first impression. I thought the show had a bunch of off-the-street people tasting wine, because Gary seemed like such a east coast spaz. By the end of that episode I was amazed at how well he could pick out individual and subtle flavors. I have been watching most every day since. Although I do skip many of the white wine episodes. Ya, I know it is wine but is it really?

Love Pinot Noir but have only found one Cali winery that produces consistently good pinots in my price range and that winery is J.

QOTD: Episode 325 I believe. Sometimes it gets muddled as I watch the back episodes as time permits.

Very nice episode Gary. And that’s from a Pinot Noir challenged Vayniac!

I am glad sniffy-sniff is here to stay, although you never explained your reason for even considering retiring it, I would be curious to know.

QOTD: About a week before you were on Conan O’Brien I saw this show on iTunes. I was a little taken back at first, but I could not stop watching. Like the highlight reel of the old man getting hit in the stomach with a cannon ball. I was an instant Vayniac, my wife can attest to how excited I was that you were going to be on Conan.

QOTD: On and off for about 2-3 months, but I have only watched every episode since # 369.

Thanks! Great job. I enjoy your daily rants about wine every other day.

By the way, I’m glad to see that you are feeling better.

Great show Gary! Unlike my few prejudices (whites, sweet wines, merlot) which I am earnestly trying to work past (I chant “Chateau Petrus is Merlot” like a mantra), I am downright AFRAID to get into Pinot and Burgundy in particular. Allen Meadows describes Pinot as the most “transparent” grape of all, in terms of terroir, and in one episode of WLTV you mentioned that the only way to learn about Burgundy is to read a lot and taste a lot.

I’m afraid I will fall into a black hole of Burg-addiction and emerge a penniless alcoholic.

QOTD: I had “the bottle” on August 26, 2007. Sometime in September, I was scouring the internet for info/interviews with Robert Parker, and your episode “Robert Parker Rated Wines” came up on Youtube. I watched a little, wondered who in the world you were. Thought you were a little obnoxious, and moved on. About a week later, I actually watched the whole episode. Then I reluctantly watched another, then I eagerly watched another. I think I needed a better source of general wine knowledge because my bone-headed strategy of buying on Parker Scores was burning me big-time. So here I am, over 300 episodes later. I have a confession to make: I fall asleep to old WLTV episodes.

    You rock, Gary!
