Great episode Joanne. You really make Gary hard to look at in comparison.

I loved the episode, I think you should have a talk show Gary, you are a great interviewer.

Smells like freshly opened RBI Baseball 2 for NES? Your spontaneity is priceless!

PS – I lean more towards a “Bases Loaded” kind of smell. (Jersey rocks the house with Paste and Bay in the 3 and 4 holes)

I thought you coached the guests in the QOTD.

Gary, What a great guest you had on today. It was Rocketboom that started me watching video podcasts and I found WLTV along the way. Keep the guests coming.

I liked the show, I thought Joanne was fun and easy-going, a breath of fresh air… After a hard day at work, it’s fun to watch a show that can make you laugh. Variety and spontaneity is a facet of the show that always make it great. I say, keep them comming!

Loved Joanne….I like the idea of guests…just normal people…not really wine “experts”…would love to see her again as a guest…but really want LIZZIE to make an appearance….Valentines Day is coming soon…come on Vanniacs…rise up…demand that Lizzie makes an appearance…

Gary, This show was a blast, like a few good friends having a great laugh together. The guest gigs are 2 thumbs up! Bone Marrow and Cat Food, she’s now one of US!

Current Guiness Book of Records wine related…. births in one year? I don’t know, 14 million?

    Great show you guys!!!

This was an episode that I felt could have, and has in the past worked better with wine related guests. I felt that the wine content in this particular episode was lacking. Some great selections, and the show itself was entertaining, however not the usual WLTV that we all know and love.

I think Joanne should be invited back to a laid back Fri couch episode…forget the bucket. ;)

I’ve got a couple of the 04 Sandoval’s in the cellar…sounds like a winner, I’m just hoping with a bit of age they might show something other than dark fruit and alcohol.

I was a lurker, but now I’m not. The million dollar bottle of wine didn’t do it for me, but this did. Shows where my priorities are at….

I like the idea of having non-professional wine drinkers on the show. I’m still new to the experience. Nice to see people of different wine pedigrees enjoying wine together….

There should be a list of “wines that take EXACTLY like _____”. The person who helped me get into wines always had me taste these “no brainer” types of wine, which gave me the confidence to come out and say things like “this wine tastes like old people”, which isn’t my highest compliment….

My answers to the previous QOTD, since this is my first post. I started listening (and lurking) after the (first) NPR story. Now where’s my million dollar bottle of wine?

Big Al, what’s wrong with giving my opinion of the show? I’m just as big a fan of the show as you may be…that’s what Gary inspires people to do…to trust our own judgement… Must I succumb to some sort of peer pressure you’re imposing on me because you think you’re so cool with your “dude” language?

    Pineapples.

Oh, and please more champagne, more blanc de blanc. It kills me. In a good way.

Great show. Joanne is obviously very comfortable behind the camera. She needs to come back to ask a proper QOTD. Cat Food???

Don’t wanna take anything away from certain novel thunderness that today’s show brought…enjoyed the interaction between you and the guest…yet, I don’t think it was as educational as your normal shows….the analysis of each wine wasn’t very coherent with all the laughter and jokes (which I did enjoy…don’t get me wrong). Definitely a type of episode that’ll allow you to keep things fresh…but I see how it could be detrimental if such an episode were the norm. I think it was a good idea that you selected the wines that don’t have any significant ties to one another (except that the lady mentioned she had certain propensity towards them)…which made the show a lighthearted one…I may have been pissed had it been some cool selection that I would’ve definitely wanted a more serious analysis on.

Gary, that looked like alot of fun to tape, great episode today and a great guest !!!!
    QOTD- not sure

A light episode, & quite extraordinary. QOTD: blue?

    FJDR

The QOTD was “What is the current Guinness Book of Records wine-related…” The answer is 42. She has a very cute way of “whirling”; that girl knows how to whirl.

Good interaction …..great to have guests more often. Although your wife is not going to like this king of sexy guests…..doesn’t matter if says its ok…women are women here, london, or russia….dispite of that I like the idea of showing everybody the idea of being more open at the time of tasting and evaluating a particular wine….spit it out …whatever you think, what ever you smell or taste… great show Gary….I did’t get the QOTD, But the Finca Sandoval wine I tasted from either 02 or 03 did not show the real stuff. Not much of a thunder…. and very fruit foward bomb….ok to drink but pricy for what i got…anyways keep the guests …and if they are sensual like joanne…. great

OK, I admit it, I’m in love. A gorgeous lady with a Brit accent who speaks French and is that much fun? Wow… Now I know why my GPS “voice” is a female Brit. Man o man.

QOTD: Guinness book of record re: wine? All of us Vayniacs have no clue but I’ll guess . . . German Riesling. Or maybe Champagne, my fav wine of choice.

    Great show G-Man!

    Cheers! (with a Brit accent)

I love your new idea to bring on guests!! Joanne was very cool.

QOTD – I have no idea what color shirt, but i’ll bet it showed a hint of red fruit.

    Great show today!
