Gary! Your worst Superbowl nightmare and mine are the same – and they are a reality! WHY!!?? I was going to throw a sweet Superbowl party – but I don’t know if I can stomach publicly promoting the Pats-Gmen showdown. Anywho – QOTD: I haven’t had Petit Verdot except in blends – I’ve been waiting for GV to do a Petit Verdot show!

    Great Episode!!!

I’m still on the lookout for PV. I tried Cab Franc – got a really really green one that didn’t do it for me (picture a heap of green coffee mixed with bellpeppers and a single, lonely blackberry, lightly coated in manure). But I have yet to find a 100% PV.

However, Last thanksgiving I had the ‘05 Yard Dog Red (Red Heads Studios, Australia) that was 46% PV, 30% Merlot, 24% Cab. Had great fruit, though weak tannins. The nose had something like apple jolly rancher -faintly herbal, or blueberry-like. It was really interesting by itself, but paired badly with the dinner. Good enough to make me want to try a 100%PV.

    3. I’m waiting for my rinky dink state store to get some good wine!

Great show as usual. My husband couldn’t be happier (except maybe as happy as Mott?) about the Giants.

Hmmm…global warming…if PV is so good, should we support global warming? Just a thought.

Best PV I’ve had was from Whitehall Lane in Virginia. Incredible aroma of honey and violets. Full and rich in the mouth, too. Yum!

Good show today. Still haven’t had 100% PV yet, though I’ve had it in many blends. It’s tough to come by here. I’m going to hit up my two local wine shops, today, to see if I can’t track some down. Wish me luck.

QOTD: I’ve had several — I think all from Virginia. Of these, my favorite is the Pearmund. (I live near there and have had it the most often, but I like it a lot.)

I have never had a 100% PV. I enjoy blends with PV, but never had it stand by itself.

Good show, interesting results… I have to say, i like the ‘power tastings’ as of late.

No PV that I recall. Waiting to clear out my current vino stash, PV is NOW on my list.

    Thanks Gary

Never had PV. From the sound if it I’ll stay away from it for a while.

QOTD: I don’t think I have ever had Petit Verdot alone, but I may have had it in a small percentage in a blend. I just don’t ever see them very often, and when I do see one, it’s out of my price-range. But it’s on my list!

    Being green is very fashionable.
So eat all your veggies, and drink green.
    Think Globally, drink green locally.
    Pearmund Cellars is even Geo-thermal!
