    Oops, “in any given year”

We need an edit function on this board.

Hmmm, my only experience with PV is whether Dominus used it in sny given year in their blend.

    QOTD:

    #1 No
    #2 See #1
#3 Will definitely seek it out and the Radool apple TV? Would this be a prize? It’s very cool and would love to have one. Trying to figure out the cryptic message at the end. Are you signing up with Steve Jobs?

Like a lot of others, I have not had it alone. I do have a bottle but I have not tried it yet.

QOTD: I have only had PV in blends but I would love to try a 100% version from France.

Most recent – Pirramimma Petit Verdot from Australia – ~$25 range (I’m seeing the trend). 9.85 on the yummy scale.

QotD – Never had a straight Petite Verdot, mainly because of the QPR and lack of choices. Even in Kansas City big wine shops, there just isn’t a big enough demand for it – plus not that many wineries make a straight Petite Verdot. I might try the Murphy & Goode if it wasn’t so expensive.

QTOD: Have never had Pt. Verdot, but with your rage about it, I need to pick some up. At least, one; at least.

QOTD: Yeah, I done d’ stuff.

I first tasted it at Bell Cellars (Napa Valley). It was nice, but for $50? Then, at the 2005 Ridge Monte Bello “Component” tasting, I tasted some young. Last summer, at Hess Collection, I tasted (and bought) the 2004 Petite Verdot, which I plan to age about 3 years or so. 2004 was a great PV and CF year in Napa Valley.

Gary: Do you want to open this with me in 2010?

    BruceP

Yep. Last one I had was the 2005 Petit Verdot from Lodi by Periscope Cellars. Think I’ve had one by Concannon as well.

My wife and I have tried and love Petit Verdot we got from a vineyard in Sonoma where you can only get the wine there or by belonging to their club. We visited Stryker in Sonoma when we were there two years ago and really liked the Petit Verdot we tried at the tasting bar. we received some in their shipments to us and have actually gone back and bought half a case of their 2002 Monte Rosso Vineyard Sonoma Valley PV and half a case of their 2004 Speedy Creek Vinyard Knights Valley PV.

    Hummmm!!
I have not had a 100% pv wine.
Only had it blended with other varieties.
Will have to keep my eye out for it.

QOTD: I’ve never had a 100% Petit Verdot. I’ve never really seen one around, then again I haven’t been looking too hard!

I’m going to look for one soon, any suggestions on outstanding examples? Its finally the girlfriends 21st this weekend so I’ll be on the lookout for some good wines to pick up!

    1. Never. 2. /skip to Q3/ 3. At this point, I’m still not sure that I will anytime soon- unless the effects of (ahem) climate change results in bumper crops which may lower the costs. $20 to $25 for a so-so bottle of wine is a pass in my book.
