QOTD: Never had a petite verdo… better add it to the list.

QOTD: Nope never had one, but I am a fan of the Murphy Goode Fume Blanc so I think I’ll look out for this PV!

Good show Gary. PV has mainly been used as a blender, but I did have a 100% PV from Matthews Cellars in Woodinville, Wa. It was inky black, huge tannin and definitely needed some cellar time. I’d seek out more PV’s, but they are hard to come by. Are you going to be on Apple TV or what ?

    GVNC,

Great show and educational to boot.

QOTD: I’m with the other two WAers and had the Januik. I recently picked up 2 bottles of 2005 PV from OS (Owen Sullivan) but I heard they only made 50 cases! Poof, gone. Otherwise in lots of blends. I’m going to order some of the Murphy-Goode, thanks for the tip.

You rock buddy! Well, 2 for 4 ain’t bad. Looking forward to tasting these over the next couple weeks. I was thinking about the AppleTV myself after the updates Steve Jobs announced at the keynote last week! Would definitely be easier than loading up my video ipod and hooking it up to the TV to watch WLTV…

    QOTD:
    1) No, haven’t had a Petit Verdot yet.
    2) I’ve got two bottles each of the ones you just tasted (plus the Escafeld).
    3) Cuz I was waiting for you to check ‘em out and taste along!

    QOTD: Sort of.

I have a few bottles of Kent Rasmussen Petit Verdot in the cellar. I guess I’m waiting for the right meal opportunity to open it up. I’m also trying to drink through some less age-worthy wine in my cellar right now & let some of the newer purchases rest.

I have never had a PV. I guess it is time to try. To be honest I never heard of PV before watching Wine Library TV.

Been diggin pv for a while. Some nice stuff made in Santa Barbara and in southern parts of Monterey County.

It’s part of what call the “formidable four”: Petit verdot, Petit syrah, Tannat and Dornfelder.

    QOTD: No, no, no.

Only stuff we get out here are cheap South American wines and crap from elsewhere.

qotd: I’ve had only one petit verdot so far which was a free-shipping item long time ago. :) oh, it’s Ballast Stone Petit Verdot 2003. I wasn’t really crazy about it because it was a little bit lighter than I expected(I’m not so sure why I expected it in that way…. mmm)

QOTD: I’ve had only one Petit Verdot, the 2004 Escafeld and it was a most excellent wine! A great introduction to the grape, in my opinion.
