Hardly wait until tomorrow’s episode to see how they evolve.
Should do this more often – maybe with some lower end wines as well.

So looks like some sort of change after episode 400 ??? (7 more to go ??)

Yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed the Run Rig. I’m super pumped because on March 6th my husband and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary, and we’ll be popping open a bottle of 1998 Run Rig. Yes, it is a total indulgence, but that’s what we want for our celebration. :)

What is this nonsense, seven more shows then you quit. Fear of success? or somebody’s lawyer threatening you? If the latter, screw them. We’ll all back you up–at the trial that is :-D — for the rest of it, you’re on your own baby.

So are you going to have your own mainstream TV show now, that’s my guess? Food Network? I’d certainly hope you would not abandon the Vaniacs completely.

QOTD: Golf, drink wine, video games, hang out with my wife and 2 girls!

7 more shows? are you nuts? That’s like Kellen Clemens announcing he’s going to retire from football before next season. The only difference is the jets could replace him.
I’m boycotting the QOTD until your shenanigans are over!

Did I hear you correctly? Did you say your are stopping at 400 shows?
If this is true what am I going to do when the afternoon duldrums set in at work?

Well that was a fun little episode. I got to taste a small sample of the ‘03 Run Rig a couple years back and I agree – I just can’t pay that kind of price for a bottle, but I’m sure glad I’ve tasted it at least once.

Have to throw out a big WTF!!!!
7 episodes left here? Going to iTunes?
I guess we will have to wait for the big news.

QOTD. Mine has changed over the last 5 years from cycling, fishing and telemarking to travel to traveling with my wife, traveling with my wife and dog to know staying at home enjoying my wife, dog and 3 month old daughter Aubrey. Sometimes not in that order.
Wine has always played a part and will continue. Maybe just not as much as some of my funds have to go towards the kid.

Thanks for another great informative and opinionated show.
Keep up the good work no matter what medium you choose.

    Seven more shows??
Really like that you are bringing up drinking a bottle over a few days. This is often what I do, because if I finished a bottle a night I’d be hammered. Also, it is a good way to get a glimpse of what a wine might do if aged over a period of years.
QOTD: I like; sharing a fantastic meal with family and friends, getting out doors and doing something active like riding a bike, boating, skiing. Also, travelling and seeing the world and meeting people.

First time I heard you mention “rootbeer” on the nose. I often smell that myself with certain wines and thought I was crazy.

good day at work, coming home to friends and family to cap off the day.

    GV…

I often get a drastic evolution in long aeration on the Malbec. They gain so much. I hope it is the case with Altamira.

Regarding TCA contamination (corked wines), sometimes you do not get the corked smell. Instead, you can get a partial or extreme suppression of the aromas. Couldn’t be the case Gary?

… 7 episodes left? Yeah, right!

    Sniffy Snifferton

To the viewers: did you know that 30% of your sense of smell is in your mouth? When you sniff wine, do so with your mouth slightly open near the rim of the glass (which is hard to do when your entire nose is in it!) and inhale slowly as you sniff. You’ll open up a whole new door to smelling wine and definitely improve your experience.

    Jimmy Bryght

If the Torbeck is so wonderful and “indulging”, then why dump it at the end and not drink it? I would carry Mott’s children just to get a sip of that stuff.
