Fun show. Lots of mixing it up lately, eh? With the special guests and the change of scenery. I like…

QOTD: Road trips, winery visits, starting the night with yummy wine and finishing with calimotxo, dancing my hiney off, good design, my incredible husband, how strong the euro is (haha), etcetera etcetera…

I really hope to get some clarification on the bomb you dropped at the end of this episode.

QOTD: Run, play tuba and sing and cook with and enjoy wine and beer (loved the beer episode, btw).

    Cool show and cool experiment!

QOTD: Fly fish, drink & talk about wine, work, hiking, and do all of it with family.

Only 7 more episodes? Yet he mentioned that something is brewing with the Apple TV…. Could there be a big format change coming?

I hope you don’t leave, Gary, but wish you well with whatever you decide to do.

Excuse Me, 7 more shows….. That would be #399
You have to at least 8 for the big #400

On the other end of the price spectrum, I thought this about the 2005 Las Rocas de San Alejandro Catalunya. Much better the next day. Letting it open let it get a little funk!

Only seven shows left? What now? Nothing else matters. I am never drinking wine again.

    Gary,
I just scanned the comments to this episode and they are overwhelmingly pleading for you not to end winelibraryTV at 400. I must say I went to bed last night hoping you weren’t serious but this morning I truly woke up with sinking feeling of sadness that the show would be ending. I must ask, please, please, please, keep going. If the daily shows are too much, why not go to a weekly schedule? Think about it man. You’ve really done a lot for the wine world, but must more needs to get done and you’re the man to do it.

I LOVE TO hit the road on my bike, not motorcycle, or hit the trail on my mtn bike and I LOVE to taste wine, examine it, play with it – I am totally hooked on the experience. Plus I just love anything outdoors, rockclimbing, hiking, skiing, all that shiz is for me!!

    Cheers

QOTD…. to assist & empower people around me to make a difference to others around them.

Wow, one sip of fruit bomb and you’re almost falling out of your chair, hehe.
I hope you don’t listen too much to people on certain wine blogs that are critical of your tasting methods. There are plently of us out here that “get” your overall message and aren’t going ot run out and buy wine just because you say. You adamently encourage people to try new things and listen to their own tastes, not follow ratings.
Thanks though, for the Wine Library church that reminds us why we watch. But still, really, don’t listen to the turds.

I love to drink wine. I also love to act on stage. If only I could play a wino on Broadway…
I think you meant to say only 700 more shows…right?

Gary, great show, very special :)

QOTD: Discovering a new wine and drinking it for the first time.

Gary, this is my first comment ever!

I’m writing from heart of Brooklyn in Bedford-Stuyvesant (Bed-Stuy). First of all, you made me smile when you dropped the Rick Ross (White on White) reference the other day. Nicely done and under the radar.

You summonsed me out of the lurch with your gallant defense and impassioned retort to those who may offer more critique than congratulations as you seek to demystify one of our most common social customs (drinking wine) all while bringing friends, families and more importantly, strangers together.

You are changing the wine world and you’ve certainly changed my world.

QOTD: I love watching your show. I’m in law school right now and read huge 6 inch caselaw books all day. My passion is wine and your show gets me excited to learn, taste, and seek out wines from all over the world. Don’t stop the show!

    P.S. Isn’t Gastineau’s daughter Brittny smoking hot?

What a show! This is inspiring to the point that it makes me feel like wine should be a part of everybody life or something…just a very interesting message from Gray today!

QOTD: Where should I start? It’s such a board question and I just love to do so many different things! Get to know people, listen what they have to say, eating, drinking wine, playing and watching sports, movies, musics, poker, driving (not in the traffic though), and most importantly try new things!!

Gary, about you’re only doing 7 more episodes, what do you mean? You’re not serious, are you?

What do I like to do? I like to spend time with my family. Period. Gary, I suffered a profound family loss last week, and am finally starting to recover. Family is everything. Wine is a fun hobby, but without people you love to share it with, it’s no better than Tylenol. I’m glad I finally got back to seeing a WLTV episode. Made me feel good. (What happened to fShare?) As usual, thanks for your enthusiasm, knowledge, and good times.

QOTD – I love to snowshoe in the mountains at night. Very few things that are nearly as peaceful.

    Enjoyed the episode today.

    Gary,

I just had a meeting with some very important people and we decided that you simply must carry on with the show. THE SHOW MUST GO ON. I know that you need affirmations from time to time. Again, you must keep doing the show….it’s very simple.

QOTD: I love shopping for wine. I love browsing little shops here and there and discussing what the owners like. I also, secretly, love it when they try to sell me some crap – they never expect to have an educated consumer in their midst. Yesterday I was unable to find any 100% Petite Verdot, but my wine shopping did earn me a bottle of Grenache, a bottle Roussanne, a botttle of Pinot Gris from Oregon (of all places) and some white from the Rhone (which I had last night and it was delicious).

Gary, we need you. Don’t leave.

  20. January 24, 2008

    Oregon Jim

QOTD – Sailing, Skiing, Golf, Photography, Tropical fish, Helping people in Haiti, Worship my God, Experience wine, Be with my family doing all those things! and watching the Thunder Show.

I know you are not going to stop because A.)You haven’t changed the wine world yet. 2.)You are too young to retire. III.) You have way too much energy to give. and lastly, you are such a success and such a natural that this thing has just begun and you know it.

So I bet you are going cable or something.

    Angela

wow! what a show! probably the most entertaining show i have seen to-date. glow-worms, robots picking grapes, and a chocolate bath all in one episode. can’t wait to see what happens to the wine tomorrow.
QOTD: read and talk about wine

  22. January 24, 2008

    ZacharyD

Hold on. Did you really just say 7 more shows? You are the only cool guy in the wine business. If you are only doing 7 more shows, can you get a TV deal with Food Network or something? That would be great. Please keep making episodes. Please. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! You are the greatest!

I’ve only been around WLTV for a few months, especially because I turned 21 last June and have just started to appreciate good wine. So I am breaking my lurker status to implore Gary to continue WLTV. While he stresses the importance of trusting your own palate, the ability for me to compare my opinion of a wine with a much more experienced oenophile has been invaluable in my advancement of wine enjoyment. Please, keep up this excellent show.
QOTD: Listen to a beautiful piece of music.

    Ernest_G

QOTD: I love making my children (2 daughters) laugh and smile. :D

    WT. . . ! 7 shows left?!?@?!?!?@?!?!?!@?@#?

    I hope you meant wrong. . .

    GG, GV.

Quite surprising that there haven’t been more ‘corked’ wine with all the bottles tasted in almost 400 episodes.

There has to be more than 7 episodes left. We are just getting played by GV a bit. Likely just a trick to get the comment section smoking. At least I’m sure hoping that is the case!
