QOTD- How about doing it 2-3 times a week instead of every week day? You can’t stop now there is still much work to be done.

It won’t be going anywhere. How else could Gary release all this energy that he has, and also, he is just starting to make it big…he has been on Conan, Ellen, Nightline, NPR, and probably much more….You just can’t do it man….you’re to committed to us. Also, if you leave we won’t be changing the wine world…Peace

Why is the show ending? Its one of the top reasons i buy from winelibrary. I think if the show ended i would buy alot less wine from here. So whatever we can do to save the show……shoot!!

QOTD: Is the Thunder show the only thing going away and GV is bringing another kind of show.. Maybe the Radool show?

Way too much drama, all will be revealed soon. My money says GV wont be going anywhere, there is just too much wine that needs to be tasted. It’s a tough job I know but you signed up for it so MAN UP and give it a snify snif.

Gary, I don’t know whether to believe you or not. You might be serious, or you might be playing with us, perhaps trying to draw out lurkers or leading up to a name change for the show (so the “Thunder Show” is going away). If you are playing with us, a lot of Vayniacs are going to be very annoyed.

You know you love doing this, and you know that we love you doing this. So what gives? Has it all become too much to manage? If so, how can we help? (That’s an offer, not a rhetorical question.)

Hey Gary, I already HAVE saved the show. You see, months ago I emailed you and asked when you were going to do a show on mead and you said it was coming. So you clearly can’t end the show without doing one on mead because you said you would, and I just don’t feel it coming in the next 6 days because you have so much other stuff to do. Check and mate, Gary.

I’m not buying that GV is going away completely. Maybe the name is changing or they’ve been picked up to do an “old media” TV show, maybe Food Network to replace Emeril. What better to replace “BAM!” than with the THUNDER!!!

QOTD: Only the LURKERS can save the show. Gary has said it before. So here is my part. I’m less of a lurker. LONG LIVE THE THUNDER SHOW!!! (Hey, maybe that’s the new name!)

    QOTD: Smile and ask nicely???

Can any one Vayniac trule save the show?? What is this stuff? Just to see if we are paying attention??? You can’t leave when you are on top!! There are so so many other aspects of your experience you can relate to us Vayniacs. The nation will crumble without its leader!!

You have even provoked lurkers out of their corners. GV thanks for all you have taught us, I love your descriptions of wine, the aromas, the tastes – you even have made me try whites where I never would have thought that possible. You have inspired me to teach others!!! If you do decide to do this just remember that you have touched many people from the heart. Your love of your family and showing that has made me appreciate mine even more – wish you much happiness and health with all your future endeavors!

But we will follow you wherever you go!!

    QOTD: By asking really nicely?

Please don’t leave us, I only found this show a few months ago and would be lost in the wine world without you…Great episode btw.

Gary…you’re so full of it. ;-) We all know you’re not going anywhere, especially now that WLTV is so popular and I’m sure it’s having a positive impact on sales in your store! But I’m sure you do have SOMETHING up your sleeve (and if it’s Apple TV…I hope you’re buyin!)

QOTD: Save the Thunder show? I will remember it forever, but I don’t think you can quit now. The only thing I see stopping it is giving it up for something much more important like a baby Vaynerchuk in the oven.

Gary, I think you’ve been spending too much time on Facebook… you’re getting sucked into all that drama-queen BS. This whole ‘7 episodes to go’ thing is drama drama drama. I’m calling you out. WLTV isn’t going anywhere but up! Looking forward to episode 401.

    Good Morning Vayniacs,

The show if it really is in fact needing to be saved probably could be saved with greater appreciation for the host and perhaps reduced expectations by the audience.

Five shows a week with no compensation, married, and running a business hard to keep all those wine glasses in the air.

Hopefully the Thunder show even in a reduced form continues. But if not have loved the shows and what you bring to the table.

There’s no need to fear….Apple TV is here!
(not that I would buy one)

Man I hope I can save the show. Tell me what to do and it is done.

QOTD: ditto comments from MagnumGourment, ryptide, and others. I think though that RIck K has some interesting points to consider…

Why are you endung your wonderful program? I’ve been a Vayniac for the past two months and now you are ending it?

  20. January 25, 2008

    Dom

What happened Gary? Are you starting to get too much backlash from producers? Are some of your suppliers getting angry over some of your scores or impressions. Why do you have to distance yourself? You are doing a great job and if this show stops, what the hell am I going to do every morning with the first coffee of the day! Maybe you should do the show behind one of those screen with just a shadow projected and your voice sounding like Vader! That will get the man off your back!

  21. January 25, 2008

    Chris Davis

Save the cheerleader, save the show!

  22. January 25, 2008

    Gabriel

    Gary!

You can’t stop now, because you just can’t!

The show is great! If you stop now you will just be a small footnote in the wine-internet-thing. You need to do this at least 5 more years to really be an icon!

The show is a standard procedure in my daily life, you can’t take that away from me and all the thousands and thousands of others!

And most importantly, there are soooooo many wines and regions that you haven’t done yet. At least do another 200 episodes so you really get to cover the whole world of wine.

You are great man, don’t dissapear from our lives!

  23. January 25, 2008

    John Witherspoon (J DUB)

QOTD – Save it from what?

Tell Mott I am breaking out the red tablecloth so he needs head down to RIchmond and get ready to LINK IT UP!! WLTV-South!!

    J DUB

Also, very cool episode looking at the decanting and what time does to the product!!

  24. January 25, 2008

    BenF

Gary we are so not done changing the wine world. Can’t stop the show till mission is complete!!!! I think it will easily take 400 more shows…

  25. January 25, 2008

    Nick

Nice try. The show will and must go on.
