QOTD: Why r u retiring? Guess I missed that? Takin’ up too much time and efforts? Then go to 2-3 times per week. Money thing? There’s gotta be a lot of advertisers that would support the show or maybe a WLTV “Wine of the Month” Club? I know it’s not about lack of viewers, you got the Vaynerchuck Army ready to march with this whole 6 more shows business? Somebody puttin’ the squeeze on you to shut down? You let me know, I make him an offer he can’t refuse!!

Hey…Mark Morford, an SF columnist wrote an article that contained a link to you, which I highly appreciate (Thanks Mark), because I would love to watch this show regularly! You should not stop! How can we get you to stay???

I’d love to answer the QOTD for you Gary, but it is now Day 2 of my “QOTD Boycott”. You can end my boycott by stopping this 6 more shows nonsense.

Gary- You cant stop the show. We still have much to learn!! Maybe cut down to just once a week….we all get our fix & you still get to have a life.

    Take care :)

Cool experiment. I would have thought 24 hours open would have ruined a wine. I’m going to have to try this; with a lot less expensive wines of course!

QOTD: Nothing. When Gary sets his mind to do something, it is going to happen. That’s why he will one day own the Jets!

I think that we would all agree to let you cut down a bit if you simply need a rest. Feel free to check with the Board of Directors on this PRIOR to making any rash decisions.

You now have a following of “addicts” that you cannot simply throw out cold-turkey.

    This is your responsibility.

This is the best comment so far -

This is total BS. If the show is ending, I think you owe your loyal viewers an explanation. Thousands of people spend 15 to 25 minutes a day, 5 days a week, watching you. That is no small commitment. Many of these same viewers have become patrons of your business, putting money in your pocket. Then, out of the blue, you let it “slip” that there are only 7 shows left, with no explanation, leaving many of us scratching our heads. Frankly, you are disrespecting your viewers by acting this way. You want lurkers to leave comments; you constantly beg people to “friend me up.” Then, you turn around and act in a way no true “friend” would act. If the show is ending, just say so–and WHY. If Mott is leaving, just say so. If you’re merely planning changes to the show, just say so. If this is just a way to get people to pay more attention to you or to lavish you with praise and thanks, then you have succeeded. But, please, enough of this coy crap.

I really hope the show is not stopping, I have learned a ton. I do think this has something to do with the Apple TV box that GV showed on one of the latest episodes.

QOTD: Hopefully we, the Vanyiacs, can save the show. Because even though we, with a little bit of you are changing the wine world. We still need that little bit!

    Retiring?

This reminds me of the Beanie Babby scare yeara ago when they said they were stopping production. Great Marketing, but they never really made it back as strong as they were after that.

I was just watching some past episodes including Jason Hicks’ episode #125 and that got me thinking. . .
Gary, could we save the show with pickles? Maybe a jar or two dozen sent from Tony Paco’s in Toledo would do the trick?

Nope!!! I don’t believe it! Can’t stop the show now. I mean, you haven’t even premiered the Vayniac Napa Cab. And don’t give us any of that “Better to burn out than fade away” crap, lol.

QOTD: Still think you are moving to TV and “Who Can Save The Show” refers to someone as entertaining as you to step in and take over the daily tastings on the Thunder Show – impossible Gary V nobody can replace you. See you on TV :) .

    RANDI

Did you say the wine was showing a little more “cleve”? Hahaha…
The gum was Freshen-Up.. and I was JUST talkning about it! Thought it would be good to have a wine-gum that did that!!!

QOTD: Why does the show need saving?! Seems pretty great to me..and many many others. I think Gary has another plan in mind… We can ALL save the show..lets go mainstream!!

I think Gary just opened a bottle of 1997 Howard Stern.

Gary, your show is so amazing (in spite of comments from some of the Vaniacs that really need to get a life). We all have learned to love wine even more and respect, yes respect, our own palates and choices. Your job is not done, nore will it ever be, as more and more of us find you and learn to love you and learn to love the different wines you have introduced. For the sake of the Vaniacs and the industry, keep on keepin’ on.
